ODD EXCHANGE AT THE CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION TODAY


After Councilmember Leece burbled on aimlessly while trying to showboat about public safety and how she opposes cutting any police officers, Mayor Bever looked right at CEO Tom Hatch and asked Hatch if he would agree that every Councilmember is concerned about public safety.


Hatch then surprised observers when he didn't give the expected and de rigueur answer that in his opinion all Councilmembers are concerned about public safety.  Instead, he replied that the Councilmembers could speak for themselves.

This caused Bever to give Hatch the stinkeye (?) or maybe just a long stare with daggers.

Then again, perhaps, the CM PRESS--sitting in the rear of the room with the rest of the bad kids--just wasn't close enough to get a proper reading of the looks and what happened.

Still, we're sticking with stinkeye, until someone tells us differently.

Earlier in the meeting, the new interim City Clerk mispronounced Councilmember Mensinger's name as Messenger.  She's freshly minted, so her faux pas isn't a big deal.

However, there are many others who should know better but who constantly get his name wrong.  This is absurd, because the guy's name spells itself:  MEN SINGER--how friggin' hard is that to remember?

UCI SCIENTISTS CREATE MALARIA-PROOF MOSQUITO

Genocide is planned for certain genes.

The plan is to release this genetically modified mosquito into the wild where it is hoped its genes will spread throughout the mosquito population and replace the genes that allow its wild cousins
to carry the malaria virus.

The real story is that gene transfer between different populations has the potential to wipe out a population by changing it.


This applies to humans just as it does to mosquitoes.

Of course, if the genes of modified mosquitoes do not give mosquitoes a survival advantage over the genes in the wild population, the genes of the modified mosquitoes will die off.  This also applies to humans.

SCOTT BAUGH SHOWS HIS SQUISHINESS AGAIN

The thing that concerns us about Baugh is that he and Jim Righeimer are apparently very close.


Does Righeimer also think that illegal isn't illegal?

By the way, race is a reality.  There really are different races of humans, and race means subspecies.
