Also, the two perps in this case abandoned the victim's car about a half mile away from the crime, so it appears that their motive was not to get the car, but to beat or kill this guy--is that because he's White? If so, how about hate crime charges?
Don't be a victim. Profile.

CHIEF STAVELEY--REMEMBER HIM? THE LEFTIES STILL DO AND THEY'RE STILL USING HIM AS A PARAGON OF IMPARTIALITY, BECAUSE THEY FIGURE YOU MAY NOT HAVE SEEN THE TRUTH IN THE CM PRESSSome of the obstructionist dingbats are still commenting in the Daily Pilot about how former police chief Steve Staveley was right (with his sour grapes) about the good Councilmembers.
Some of these dingbats in the Pilot and elsewhere want you to think that they're conservative Republicans and that they supported Jim Righeimer, but...well, now they no longer do, and gosh, that "respected police chief," Staveley, sure got it right.
So, what about Staveley? Well, the CM PRESS wrote about him in June of last year in CM PRESS # 536.
We even published some of his campaign literature from when he ran for mayor of Anaheim [ go to CM PRESS# 536]. What? You didn't know that Staveley was a politician? You thought he was just an impartial and apolitical police chief? Well, did you know that he was endorsed by the Orange County Central Labor Council and the Orange County Democratic Party?
Now do you have a better idea of why Staveley may have tried to slime the good Councilmembers as he was going out the door? The guy is a big government, labor supporting, liberal Democrat!

GOOD MOVE: NEWPORT POLICE CHIEF MOVES TO LESSEN UNION INFLUENCE IN HIS DEPARTMENT
The above headline should have been on the top of the Daily Pilot story.
You would have missed the real story--about reducing union influence--if you only thought the story was about a promotion within the department as indicated in the PILOT's headline.
So said the appellate court on Monday in a not unexpected ruling.
What happens next? Well, the City Council has a closed session tonight before it's regularly scheduled meeting, and there is an item on the agenda about this matter that may have been noticed broadly enough to cover just about anything the Council wants to do. Lawsuit? Something else? Nothing? Licking of wounds? We'll have to wait to see.

HERE'S Wu's latest attempt at giving the so-called conservative take on things. Yawn.
This guy's writing is as cloyingly saccharine, shallow and predictable as that of a moist eyed college freshman new YAF member invited to sit in the front row of an old Bill Buckley TV program who then writes a breathy article about the experience for the school newspaper.
The difference is that the YAF member may have been a true believer, while Wu comes across as a poseur.
Wu a conservative? We doubt it. He seems like a guy who is trying to get accepted by real conservatives for his personal political gain.
And, speaking of poseurs, some of the local GOP Bigs, ever on the hunt for a minority to sit in the window, can point at Wu and proclaim: "See, we're not just a bunch of White guys. Heck golly, we don't notice color, er, ah, but we sure do think it's swell that there's a Black Caucus and a Latino Caucus up in Sacramento. In fact, we'd like to join those two caucuses. What's that? You think there should be a White Caucus? Harrumph, you must be a racist to say that. [ You see, we have no sense of self or group worth and we hide from our most essential identity so...] We oppose a White Caucus, this is the new [noblesse oblige] GOP. We don't want your knowing-you're-White-and-not-apologizing-for-your-skin-color kind around here."
This reminds us of how back in the late '60's YAF had a guy they were promoting who had long hair and a mustache. He was their resident Hippie that the pimple faced, short-haired, blazer and tie wearing YAFers often trotted out in public and pointed at to show that they were really with it.
Meanwhile, Wu is probably reading a dog eared copy of the book Stuff White People Like and firing up his barbecue and talking about NASCAR. "Yeah, I'm not into those ricers. Give me an American muscle car any day of the week."
But, the real Wu seemed to come through in his previous column about removing the fire pits from Newport beaches HERE. In that column, Wu engaged in a barely disguised anti-White mini-tirade as he tried to define conservatism as Wu would like it to be by disrespecting Dick Nichols and many other genuine conservatives.
Of course that column by Wu probably won him some brownie points with OC GOP Suit Mike Schroeder who, you may recall, got self-righteously and very publicly-PC upset a few months ago when a White GOP grandmother sent out an anti-Obama joke. It seemed that Schroeder did everything but put on a Rasta hat and go out in the streets and sing We Shall Overcome, while trying to get down with the people by looking for a New Black Panthers poll watch crew that he could join.

Those are our opinions, so you know they're Right. And, yes, we here at the CM PRESS are Republicans--Reagan and Buchanan Republicans. Oh, and we're also White people. And, we know it and like it just fine.

July 10 sounds like a good day for a vote on the charter.
