Here's what little is known about Jon Ashjian. Few in the Tea Party movement seem to ever have heard of him.

CM PRESS quick shot: Most conservatives and those on the right want Senator Harry Reid to be defeated. And, Reid has lousy ratings in his home state of Nevada. Just about any Republican would be able to trounce him if the election were held today. However, if the Republican vote is split by a Tea Party candidate, Reid may keep his seat.

Since no one with any Tea Party credentials seems to have heard of Jon Ashjian, the suspicion is that he may be a false flag candidate to siphon away votes from a real challenger to Reid.

This is worth watching as it develops because it may illustrate whether or not the Tea Party movement can quick step and act as a cohesive group to see through phony candidates and elect the best candidates no matter what party they are in. In this case, it seems that any Republican candidate in Nevada might be better than Reid and this supposed Tea Party candidate Ashjian.
