Liberal Democrat and Irvine mayor Beth Krom who is trying to unseat sort of conservative and Republican Congressman John Campbell was asked by the DAILY PILOT about the election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts.
Krom then gave this stupid answer:
“I don’t see it as a setback. What I do think is that the voters of Massachusetts seem to be indicating that they are more interested in voting for a person rather than a party.” LINK
Actually, as we--Massachusetts born and raised--CM PRESSers wrote the other day, voters in the commonwealth are pretty independent and seem to vote positions rather than persons or parties.
Scott Brown is an attractive candidate, but our guess is that it was his positions that won the campaign for him.
So, Ms. Krom, to help give you some insights into Massachusetts, and why Brown won the election, and why the dynamic at work in Massachusetts won't help you with your campaign, we recommend the following two songs that you can find on the internet.

WHITE KID FROM FULLERTON, NOW A PLACE KICKER FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON, TAKEN TO HOSPITAL IN EUGENE IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER BEING KICKED IN THE HEAD BY A BLACK
Link
Here's the actual description of the attacker from OregonLive.com (link is above): "a black male with a red sweatshirt."
The OC Register (as usual) didn't print a racial description of Beard's attacker and wrote that the suspect is a "man in a red sweatshirt." Link
Funny how the PC types at the OC Register just couldn't put that word "black" in their description, isn't it? What this type of ommission does is lull people into a false sense of security and puts them in potential danger.
But when a white calls a black names, the OC Register is quick to tell you the "attacker" is white as in this story. LINK
Violent crime is not an equal opportunity employer. Know the odds and keep yourself and your family safe. Pretend that violent crime is perpetrated equally by all people and you make yourself a victim just waiting for an attack.

HEARD ABOUT ABE FOXMAN AND RUSH LIMBAUGH?
Foxman heads up the ADL and issued the following statement:
Rush Limbaugh reached a new low with his borderline anti-Semitic comments about Jews as bankers, their supposed influence on Wall Street, and how they vote.
Limbaugh's references to Jews and money in a discussion of Massachusetts politics were offensive and inappropriate. While the age-old stereotype about Jews and money has a long and sordid history, it also remains one of the main pillars of anti-Semitism and is widely accepted by many Americans. His notion that Jews vote based on their religion, rather than on their interests as Americans, plays into the hands of anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists.
When he comes to understand why his words were so offensive and unacceptable, Limbaugh should apologize.

Limbaugh thinks Foxman owes Limbaugh an apology. Here's Rush's response to Foxman. Link

OH GOODY--THE CITY OF COSTA MESA IS, AS WE WRITE THIS, REPAVING COOLIDGE STREET IN THE FILLMORE-COOLIDGE SLUM
Mesa North and the whole city would be better off if the money used to pave streets in front of slums were used to buy up individual slum buildings, tear them down, and
put in additional parking or pocket parks.
Say, that's exactly what the City of Stanton is now doing! They're buying up slum buildings and tearing them down.
Can we switch City Councils, please? We'll send our Council to Stanton where they can do their usual nothing, and we'll take the Stanton City Council so they can improve Costa Mesa.
In hyper-paving streets in front of slums, Costa Mesa is doing the equivalent of giving a fish to a hungry man, who will be hungry again tomorrow, while Stanton, in tearing down the slums, is giving him a fish hook so he can catch his own fish and solve the problem once and for all.

MSNBC IS THE TV VERSION OF AIR AMERICA
The reason so few people watch MSNBC is because of lefty punks like Keith Olbermann who last Monday called Senator-elect Scott Brown "an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against women and against politicians with whom he disagrees."

NICE ARTICLE IN LA TIMES ABOUT THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT
Link
The old cliche about herding cats comes to mind.
Yes, you can herd cats, but they have to want to be herded and they have to feel it's their own individual decision to be herded.
