I was pleased to learn today that Scott Brown easily carried the part of Massachusetts where I was born and raised (not far from where he was born and raised).

I was pleased to learn today that Scott Brown easily carried the part of Massachusetts where I was born and raised (not far from where he was born and raised).
One man and one senate seat from one small state and this win may help put the country back on the right track. That's politics for you. The whole country can get turned this way or that on one election from one minor state.
Brown's win was not really much of a surprise though (in hindsight and with calm reflection), since most of the folks I know are independent minded and most vote positions more than party labels or personalities and I think the folks I know pretty much represent the attitudes of a large segment of the population in the commonwealth.
Even the Democrats I've known well in Massachusetts (my mother and her entire family), and the Republicans (my father and his entire family), are really pretty independent rather than being party hacks.
Maybe I'm reading into this, but I think the Republicans may be making a mistake if they think Brown is going to be easily leashed.

My take is that he is going to stay true to his values and the wishes of his constituents even if these sometimes conflict with what some Republicans may want.
In other words, if I'm right, Brown is going to be as independent minded as a lobsterman, and if Republicans try to put words in his mouth or steer him too much (as it appears that Sean Hannity is already trying to do), he might rebel.

Campos is crazy. He shows it's not safe to live in SF. They won't seek the death penalty also, including in cases where a police officer is murdered. Criminals have more rights in SF than victims. Moral of the story- if you're a criminal, and an illegal alien, go to SF to commit your crimes. Unbelievable.
