Rita Simpson is the common sense candidate who has no grandiose political ambitions. She's running because she wants a nicer, safer, better Costa Mesa, and as far as we can tell she isn't doing any of the usual things to get elected.
She's just stated what she believes and that's it. No signs, no slick brochures, no attacks on others. Just good old fashioned Mom and Apple Pie.
It appears that most of Mrs. Simpson's campaign involves the above linked Daily Pilot article and her statement in the voter's brochure. Isn't it refreshing to see a common sense mother and grandmother try to bring her traditional values to the jaded world of phony politics?
The haters hate Mom and Apple Pie.
Liberal Democrats and Obama clones Foley and Humphrey don't want Mom and Apple Pie to win the election.
Now, dear voters, you're not going to join the haters and vote against Mom and Apple Pie, are you?
A vote for Righeimer and a vote for Mrs. Simpson might be just what Costa Mesa needs to keep things improving--at least that's what we're hearing from some Improvers.
You decide. What kind of Costa Mesa do you want? Do you want a Costa Mesa of traditional American values or one that is ruined by liberal Democrats whose world view is similar to Obama's?

The Election
UPDATE: CM PRESS HQ got a no on o flyer today. It says: "Paid for by Democratic Party of Orange County, 1916 W. Chapman Ave. Suite B, Orange, CA. 92868" Yawn.
So far, it's been a relatively slow election year in the CM PRESS HQ snailmail box. We've received just a few mailers from local pols. Yesterday, we got just one slate mailer--the cheap paper kind where the candidates pay to be "endorsed."
It's also been slow at the CM PRESS HQ phone bank. We did get one call last night from someone in a boiler room, who could barely speak English, telling us that we should vote no on O. We told him where he could stuff his phone, sideways.
We'll let you know later if we see any increase in election activity.

Texas--2nd Hospital worker has Ebola.
UPDATE: ID'd as 29-year-old Black nurse Amber Vinson, HERE w/photo. Authorities are planning on moving her from Texas to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Now, why do you suppose they're moving her? One guess is that she's much sicker than they're letting on and not expected to survive and the hospital in Texas doesn't want another death on its hands to scare people away from the hospital. Hospitals, after all, are businesses. CDC says Vinson disregarded instructions about not flying and flew to Cleveland and then back to Texas, possibly infecting many people along the way. As usual, the CDC (which now seems incompetent) is trying to tamp down fears that Vinson may have infected others.
And, from other sources an explanation has now been offered that the authorities are making a distinction between "airborne," and "droplet borne." And, they're saying that Ebola is not airborne...yet.
The definition of airborne that they are using is that the virus is dried out--but still alive--and floats in the air where it can be breathed in and start its infection through the lungs.
Droplet borne means that the virus is still active and is propelled through the air via a sneeze, a cough, vomiting, spitting, explosive diarrhea, etc.

TEXAS--EBOLA USING PLANES TO GO AIRBORNE
It is now being reported that the 2nd Ebola infected hospital worker (story above) flew from Cleveland to Texas on a plane just hours before reporting that she was ill. The incompetent CDC is now trying to reach all 132 people who were on the plane with her. And, how about all those people in the airports?
