CM PRESS # 11

WHY THE CM PRESS GETS IT RIGHT AND WHY THE LOCAL DEAD TREE PRESS IS SO OFTEN WRONG.

THE CM PRESS THINKS WITH THE ITEM SHOWN ABOVE, WHILE THE DEAD TREE PRESS THINKS WITH THE ITEMS SHOWN ON THE RIGHT.

Ah, Ms. Dixon, that's a brain above and those are kidneys on the right.

HAS DIXON SEEN THE LIGHT?
(We doubt it)

Speaking of Linda Dixon; at the City Council meeting this past week, Ms. Dixon told Mayor Mansoor that now that the election is over she wants to work with Mr. Mansoor and the [improvement] majority on the Council.

Well, Ms. Dixon, talk is cheap.

Back on August 11, Ms. Dixon, the Daily Pilot ran your stupid column "Why we must stop Mansoor," in which you wrote: "Beware Allan Mansoor!"

You also wrote in that column, the same smarmy crap that is coming from some of your extremist pals: "I read, with great disgust, the comments from 'Minuteman' Mayor Allan Mansoor."

And, you also wrote: "Mansoor and his string of puppets are on a mission to divide Costa Mesa and pit neighbor against neighbor, and they will not be happy until we are one big 'lily white' community."

We all know what you were trying to imply in your screed, Ms. Dixon.

The CM PRESS will be watching and counting your votes on the dais over the next two years, Ms. Dixon, and we'll let our readers know if you now understand that the voters of this city want an improved Costa Mesa, and if you vote accordingly.

Over the past couple of years, Ms. Dixon, the CM PRESS has watched as you voted in lockstep with Katrina Foley against improving this city. It seemed that it was almost always just you and Foley voting against improvement.

The CM PRESS will know pretty fast whether or not you're going to start working to improve this city or whether your words are just empty.

You'll see the CM PRESS at City Council meetings and elsewhere, Ms. Dixon. We're not going to let you get away unnoticed with saying one thing and doing the opposite.

Citizens of Costa Mesa want our city to be improved. Period.

WHAT VIOLENT CRIME? WE DON'T SEE ANY VIOLENT CRIME! DUHHH!

Remember during the just past campaign for the City Council how some of Garlich and Scheafer's supporters were writing letters to the dead tree Daily Pilot and saying that they didn't see any crime in the city?

Most Improvers just laughed at them for being so out of touch with reality.

Well, in the OC REGISTER today there's a breakdown of violent crime in some major OC cities.

And, guess what? Of the cities shown from the ring of cities (see OC REGISTER, 11/23/06 pg Local 9) Costa Mesa leads the pack for an increase in violent crime. Huntington Beach and Irvine had major decreases in violent crime. Costa Mesa and Santa Ana had increases.

INCREASE/DECREASE IN VIOLENT CRIME BETWEEN 2005 and 2006 IN CITIES IN THE RING OF CITIES

COSTA MESA 20% INCREASE IN VIOLENT CRIME!

SANTA ANA
3% INCREASE IN VIOLENT CRIME

HUNTINGTON BEACH
15.6% DECREASE IN VIOLENT CRIME

IRVINE 27.4%
DECREASE IN VIOLENT CRIME
