PRESS RELEASE FROM COSTA MESA TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION

COSTA MESA CAMPAIGN SIGN VANDAL CAUGHT ON VIDEO
$500 REWARD OFFERED

COSTA MESA, CA – Last night around 8:20 p.m. a campaign volunteer video-taped a man at the NWC corner of Fair Drive and Columbia Street in Costa Mesa destroying yard signs for Yes on Measure V and McCarthy, Monahan and Mensinger for City Council.

Jim Fitzpatrick said that hundreds of campaign signs vandalized or destroyed.

Costa Mesa Taxpayer's Association is offering a $500 reward to the first person with information that leads to the identification of the man shown in the video below:

Costa Mesa has been at the epicenter of California’s pension reform movement. Union bosses from around the state have spent over $180,000 to defeat an initiative to adopt a city charter ( Measure V) that will allow the city council to adopt local control and cost savings programs.

A law firm representing the police unions has already been caught using a private investigator to follow city councilmembers hoping to catch them in an embarrassing situation.

Any member of the public that has information about the identity of the sign vandal should email me at jimfitzeco@gmail.com All information provided will be forwarded to the Costa Mesa police department. Your identity will be kept confidential.

THREE MINUTE VIDEO ABOUT MY MARINES
#                 #                       #

In the above linked story, you won't read that the shooter is Black.  In fact, you'll see no description of him at all.

Instead, you'll read a description of the "white" shooter in another case that happened a couple of months ago and which has no relevance to the present case at all.

So, how does the CM PRESS know the present shooter is Black?  That description comes from Russian Times HERE.

That's right, folks, we had to get a racial description of an outstanding violent criminal from a foreign news source because the U.S. news source didn't give one, but wanted to plant the thought that he might be White because a previous shooter with no connection to the present shooter was White.

This is just another example of how the press tries to manipulate public opinion about violent crime and violent criminals to make you think that violent crime is an equal opportunity employer.

A free press in a free country would always tell you the race/ethnicity of violent criminals and their victims.  This information is completely relevant and can help the public stay safe.

SCUM--SOCIETY FOR CUTTING UP MEN

Remember SCUM and Valerie Solanas?

Solanas was the neurotic woman who shot Andy Warhol in 1968.
HERE'S a link for a refresher.

SCUM was the name of her group and her manifesto.  She hated men and wanted the male gender eliminated.

Some might argue that Solanas and her philosophy would fit right in with some of the so-called women (and the kumbaya singing, touchy-feely, sensitive men) who are opposed to the charter and Jim Righeimer.

THE WESTSIDE IS DOING MORE THAN ITS FAIR SHARE FOR THE HOMELESS

It's time other areas of the city step up and help out.

After all, many nimbys from other parts of the city have been smearing Mayor Bever, who is a long time advocate for the Westside, over his comments about the charities on the Westside being magnets for homeless, et al. so let's help them with their compassion.

One of the parks we might want to shift some of the homeless feeding stations and other homeless benefits to is Harper Park.  This is within walking distance of Lions Park and would offer a nice location to jump start the compassion.

There are other parks on the Eastside and also in Mesa Verde that can also be used, but Harper Park may be a good first start and we can begin shifting homeless people there in an eye blink.

So, how about it church feeders?  Harper Park is calling you.  Let us know when you're ready to start feeding people in the park and we might even use the CMPRESSMOBILE to transport some folks there to get them used to the area.  And, we'll also print up fliers and maps and distribute them to the homeless people at our expense so they can more easily find Harper Park.

In fact, we might even consider starting our own non-profit to help the homeless people.  We might call it something like: Eastside and Mesa Verde Homeless Outreach.

No, don't thank us.  We are kind and compassionate.

INGLEWOOD POLICE LOOKING FOR BLACK MALE WHO KILLED (LATINO?) FATHER AND HIS 4-YEAR-OLD SON

Violent crime is not an equal opportunity employer.

In life you can never know exactly how things will turn out, but you can have an instinctive knowledge about  probabilities and you can use that knowledge to your benefit and for your survival or you can just pretend that all humans are the same and will react in the same ways and you may end up a victim.

ANOTHER WAY TO REMEMBER WHO TO VOTE FOR  AND WHO NOT TO VOTE FOR

Yes, you already know that the 3Ms are the good guys--Mensinger, Monahan, McCarthy and that if you want Costa Mesa to improve, these are the guys to vote for.

However, these three got the short straws and their names ended up down stream on your ballot.

Meanwhile, the anti-improvers--liberals one and all--Stephens,Weitzberg, Genis  ended up 1,2,3 on the ballot.

So, here's another way to keep your reflexes from overriding your reason when you look at the ballot and get twitchy to vote for the first three--for no other reason than that you see their names first.

Remember this ditty:  1,2,3 be sure to flee, go to 4,5,7 a little like heaven.
#                            #                                    #
HAVE YOU NOTICED...

That many of the people opposed to the 3Ms are a certain kind of woman, and that the few males who are on that side of things are, er, sensitive and when these sensitive men post their pictures in comments in the Daily Pilot these sensitive "men" are almost always shown with a woman?

So what are we to make of it?

Well, we think that many of the women who oppose the 3Ms just don't like MEN.  We further think that they then gravitate to sensitive (read unmanly) men.

Now, these dominatrices in mufti will deny it, of course, and they'll tell you about their loving (and sensitive husbands or boyfriends--read geldings), but...oh, excuse me, I hear one of those women over on the Eastside talking to her husband or boyfriend right now: "I thought I told you to do the dishes and vacuum the living room, I don't want to have to tell you this again, do you hear me?" And the mousy man replies: "Yes, dear.  Sorry, dear."

Now, where was I? Right.

To be clear, we might be more correct if we say that it is not men per se that these women despise, but maleness--it's the whole male thing--directness, aggressiveness  just getting things done without having a group therapy session first where everyone shares their feelings--that gets the panties of these women and their sensitive men in a bunch.

Be sure to read the comments from some dumb ass, hate filled pathological altruists following the above linked article to realize that some people would run right over you in order to get their jollies by showing how compassionate they are.

Look, folks, there is an over concentration of charities on the Westside and they're helping keep the area downscale.

How about some of you pathological altruists taking some of these charities and people who need the charities to your own neighborhoods?

As I indicated before, there are too few charities on the Eastside.

Harper Park and Ogle Park and a few other parks on the Eastside would make nice places for feeding locations for the hungry, and places for them to spend their days and nights.

The Westside is doing far more than its fair share to help people--now it's time for the Eastside and also Mesa Verde to pitch in.

Say, did we mention that one charity boss makes almost $ 160,000 per year for her "charity" work?

What a business!  You get  free labor from pathological altruists, you get to be seen as a Mother Teresa, and you still get to make $ 160,000 per year and not have to live near the problems your charity helps create.

ONE OF THE BEST OF THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST OF THE BRIGHTEST TO RETIRE FROM CITY

We wonder if we could have kept Peter Naghavi from retiring if he had been promoted to Assistant City CEO--a position that he could have easily filled along with doing all the other things he does.  And, this would have saved us a lot of money since he is able to wear so many hats and juggle so many things at the same time.

We've written about Peter before.  This guy seems tireless.  We could hardly drive around the city where some project was going on and not see Peter there making sure things were going smoothly.

FOUR BLACK GIRLS ATTACK, ROB AND PISTOL WHIP TWO STUDENTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO

The race of the victims is not given, so you can assume they aren't Black and are probably White.

Be sure to watch the video that accompanies the above story. Note the extraordinary efforts by the university to keep its mostly White students safe in jungle-like Chicago.  One student says he was issued a whistle when he first arrived on campus so he could be safe.  He should have been issued a gun.

Folks, this isn't just happening in Chicago.

In Los Angeles, USC sits right on the edge of South Central, and students there are also in constant danger from Black criminals.  In fact, you may recall that a couple of months ago, two Chinese students were shot to death by two Blacks.

Visit USC and you'll see that the whole campus is surrounded by high iron fences.  It looks more like a prison than a university.  But, the fences are to keep the criminals out and not keep criminals in.

Is this the America that you remember from just a few years ago?  Is this the kind of country you want?

Katy Arthur--one of the organizers
of the forum  (an earlier photo).
A FEW PHOTOS FROM
THE EASTSIDE FORUM
LAST NIGHT (YAWN)

The forum had the feel, to us, of a set stage in favor of Genis, Stephens and Weitzberg.

And, the way the questions were asked kept one from comparing the candidates side by side on the same issues.

For the most part, one candidate would be asked a question, and he or she would answer, but the same question wasn't (except rarely), asked of any of the other candidates, and none of the other candidates could respond.

Stephens (an attorney with offices in Newport Beach), at one point, launched into a tirade against the proposed charter, with supposed facts, and we could see Colin McCarthy shaking his head side to side by way of saying that Stephens (an attorney with offices in Newport Beach) was wrong--but McCarthy wasn't given the chance to refute what Stephens (an attorney with offices in Newport Beach) had said.

According to the 460's on file [HERE], Katy Arthur, one of the organizers of the forum, and an Eastside activist, who previously had tried unsuccessfully to keep a Starbucks from opening on E. 17th Street, has donated $1,000 to John Stephens' (an attorney with offices in Newport Beach) campaign, $1,000 to Sandy Genis's campaign, and $1,500 to Harold Weitzberg's campaign.

Before and during the forum, Arthur could be seen flitting around glad handing people (and campaigning for her three candidates?).

Hey, Arthur, you whined about a Starbucks?  How would you like a soup kitchen on E. 17th Street?  How about some homeless people in Harper Park instead of in Lions Park?

Maybe it's time some of you Eastsiders shared in the "compassion" that is being forced on Westsiders.

Then, maybe you'll start supporting candidates such as Mensinger, Monahan and McCarthy who will improve all areas of Costa Mesa.

The Eastside is not immune from problems facing other areas of this city, and maybe it's time some of you libs over there got a dose of what your liberal philosophy has done to the Westside.

Yeah, we'd love to hear what Arthur, West, Harlan and other Eastside libs would say if Westside problems were shared with the Eastside.

Geez, the big problem on the Eastside is a friggin' Starbucks?  A Starbucks?  Good grief.  Maybe it really is time to invite the churches to set up feeding stations for the homeless in Harper Park.

96-YEAR-OLD MAN IS NEW DAD

Nature has designed it so that male humans constantly produce new sperm throughout their lives.

The new sperm is changed and modified by both the external and internal environments so that new babies may gain a survival advantage when conditions change.

Women, on the other hand, develop their eggs all at one time in their lives and the eggs are apportioned out during their child bearing years.  This gives the genetic code some stability.

As you know, the male contributes 23 chromosomes to a new baby, and the female contributes 23.  One might say that the male 23 are the wild ones that bring change, and the female 23 are the stable ones that resist change.

Human males account for most of the mutations that occur in new babies of the species, and the above explains why and how this is the case.

ADAMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND OBJECTIVE SCHOOL REPORT CARDS (which have no happy talk BS)

The Daily Pilot is running two columns from a couple of people who are associated with Adams Elementary School [HERE and HERE], who praise the school because they say that Adams has increased student scores on standardized tests.

Swell.

However, the scores are still not up to par, and when you look at the internal statistics of the school (from the school  report card HERE), you quickly realize that all the happy talk in the world is not going to make this school a magnet for the children of upwardly mobile parents who want their kids to have the best chance to succeed in life.  And, one of the best ways to succeed is to be around those who have succeeded or who also want to succeed in ways that you feel are important.

Notwithstanding the above, we'd like to know more about how Adams claims it raised the test scores.

Also, and by way of contrast, HERE's the report card from Mariners Elementary School.  Same school district. Same teachers.  Same pay for teachers. Same school books. Same amount of money spent on each student.  Yet, there's a world of difference in the scores.

If you are an upwardly mobile parent, which school would you want your kid in?

We're not just bashing Adams to be bashing the school.

We're trying to interject some reality into the situation.  The reason the state requires these report cards is so parents can compare apples and apples and make rational decisions for their children's education without being fooled by PTA mom talk about how the kids in a failing school are all smiling and happy and eat well and blah, blah, blah.

We also want to see an improvement in Costa Mesa schools as do many other parents, but we know that Costa Mesa's school problem is not a school problem; it is a demographic problem--it is a city problem.

Improve Costa Mesa and the schools will automatically improve.  Let Costa Mesa continue with slums, and the schools here will never improve.

Chris McEvoy
His name is Chris McEvoy. He ran unsuccessfully  for City Council a couple of times.

During his last failed attempt, the unions tried to get him elected as an alternative to Jim Righeimer [because they had no other option at that time] and they pumped money into a group run by Sandy Genis which then printed up McEvoy signs and placed them all around the city.

Well, according to this story [HERE] in the Daily Pilot, McEvoy now wants to recall Jim Righeimer.  Ho hum.

The sad thing about McEvoy is that he has some passion for the environment and open spaces, which are good things, but he seems to lack focus and tilts at windmills instead of putting energy into creating more open space in Costa Mesa--by removing slums and crime infested motels and turning the land where they now sit into parks.

In another comment, but this isn't relevant here, except to point out his frequent subconscious thoughts coming out, West, who has never had children, calls Jim Righeimer "the sperm donor" of the charter. I kid you not.

Foley asleep on her feet?

FOLEY SHOWS HER CONFUSION ABOUT HOW OUR GOVERNMENT WORKS

Can it be that Katrina Foley, who spent years on the City Council, simply doesn't understand that our form of government is a representative democracy?

Can she not know that we elect representatives to make decisions, and that it has always been that way in Costa Mesa since the city was first incorporated (and also in every other city that we know about in most states)?

At last night's charter debate, Foley kept coming back to the fact that the charter gives power to a majority of three on the City Council.  So what?  That's the way it is now and that's the way it has always been. The charter doesn't change that.

Foley simply had no good arguments and every one that she made was countered with facts and truth by Jim Righeimer.

The real reason for the controversy

The babe in the lowrider paint job suit got to the nub of the controversy in Costa Mesa when she asked Righeimer if the controversy about the charter is simply because some people don't like him.

And, of course, that is precisely the reason.

Those opposed to the charter are from Venus and Righeimer is from Mars.  Righeimer hasn't had a group hug with them and he hasn't walked around with teary eyes while holding a candle and singing kumbaya.  That's why they don't like him. He's not touchy feely enough for this sad crew of do-nothings.

Look, here's the reality, many of those opposed to the charter are women and they have a feminine world view driven by estrogen (which has them care more about feelings than results).  And, some of the pantywaist  men (no, they're not all pantywaists) who are opposed to it are males who seem to lack testosterone.

By contrast, many of those in favor of the charter have a more masculine world view and they like Righeimer because he gets things done.  Righeimer is results oriented, not feelings oriented.

You won't find Righeimer sitting around under the hair dryer all day talking about his feelings before pounding in a nail; he'll simply pick up a hammer and pound the nail in.

And, when he pounds the nail in and does it correctly, the Venus folks are all aghast that he didn't share his feelings with them before pounding in that nail and they are upset that he didn't have a committee formed to talk about if for six months.

Bam. Job done. It's fixed. Boo hoo, whaaaaaa, the big bad man didn't share his feelings. Whaaaaaaa.

Letting the politicians in Sacramento have the say on every bit of minutiae in Costa Mesa is like having an apartment complex with hundreds of apartments but with all the controls for the TV, the heating and air conditioning, and the hot and cold water for the shower up in the Sacramento penthouse, where a small group of elites will decide what is right for them and then force that on all the other apartment dwellers.
Thank you very much, elites up in the Sacramento penthouse, but I'm an adult and I'll control my own TV, my own heating and air conditioning, and also the hot and cold water in my shower. You do not know what is best for me, so butt out.

Why I'm Pro Charter
by M. H. Millard

I believe that government that is small and closest to the people is generally the best. I like every smidgen of local control that we can wrest from bloated, faraway Sacramento (also from D.C., but that's for a different column).

To me,  letting the  politicians in Sacramento have the say on every bit of minutiae in Costa Mesa is like having an apartment complex with hundreds of apartments but with all the controls for the TV, the heating and air-conditioning, and the hot and cold water for the shower located up in the Sacramento Penthouse  where a small group of elites will decide what is right for them and then force that on all the other apartment dwellers.

Thank you very much elites up in the Sacramento Penthouse, but  I'm an adult and  I'll control my own TV, my own heating and air-conditioning, and also the hot and cold water in my shower.  You do not know what is best for me, you folks up there in the Sacramento Penthouse, so butt out.

I've seen a few arguments against the charter and they mostly seem to be of three general types:

The proposed charter is a Cut and Paste Job--Well, yes, that's how all contracts and legal documents are crafted.  No one starts with a blank piece of paper.  When drafting such documents you find clauses already in existence which have passed legal muster and you use them in your new document.
One of the City Council candidates who opposes the charter is an attorney (as he tells everyone at every opportunity). Ask him how he puts together contracts.  If he's truthful, he'll tell you that he has all the clauses in his computer and he cuts and pastes.  No one with any sense tries to reinvent the wheel.

The proposed charter will put too much power in the hands of the City Council---Nope.  The Council already has the power to do what it thinks is necessary to govern Costa Mesa.  They derive that power from us.  The charter simply gives the people of Costa Mesa a little more power, which we will exercise through our elected representatives.

Except in small villages and towns, usually found in rural New England, we do not have pure democracies.  The reason we don't is because with larger populations it makes no sense to have all the voters show up at Town Meetings to vote whether or not to spend $ 13.45 to buy Old Bob the street cleaner a new snow shovel or not.  Instead, we have representative democracies.  We vote for representatives--in our case, City Council members--and they figure out whether or not to buy Old Bob his snow shovel.

And if you've ever seen a City Council meeting in Costa Mesa where you have men showing up in Tutus, people shouting down speakers they don't agree with, people singing while at the podium, other people talking about drilling oil wells when the subject is the city budget, and all the rest, you'll get an idea why a pure democracy wouldn't work in a city the size of Costa Mesa. It's like a scene out of Marat/ Sade.  Poor Old Bob would be down to a shovel with no blade and the citizens still wouldn't have decided whether or not to buy him a new shovel.  You'd quickly become a fan of our lack of snow and our representative government.

The proposed charter wasn't the product of a committee of citizens-- So what?  Here's a heads up on how the real world works. Often times when those running a City form a non-blue-ribbon  committee of ordinary citizens, with no real experience in the subject being discussed, it is a purely psychological move to give the appearance that everyone contributed, and thus have citizens  buy into whatever is decided even though they have usually  been manipulated to a certain decision that was made beforehand and they really didn't contribute anything.

Instead of wasting our time on an illusory, feel-good, committee, we will now have the opportunity to vote up or down on a well written charter in November.

Here's something else. Some of the folks who oppose the charter remind me of some of the Loyalists who wanted the colonies to remain part of England.  Read some of the history of that era and you'll see what I mean. Same types of personalities.  Same arguments.

To repeat. On election day, you can vote for a little more freedom and local control for Costa Mesa by voting for the charter, or you can vote to have Sacramento dictate to us.  It's no more complicated than that.

HAIRY CHARTER CHATTER TONIGHT FOR ALL OF YOUSE

So tonight youse should put some slickum on your curly locks and proceed post haste to the place next to the cement airplane at around 7 in the p.m. to hear with your own ears and see with your own peepers a debate between one Katrina Foley, the doll with the frizzy hair what looks like it has arrived via third class mail, and a guy with the moniker of Jim Righeimer whose hair is cut in the style of the businessmen of this time and place and who some of the good ol' girls say is the boss of bosses and a veritable Snidely Whiplash whose goal in this here life is to not let the good ol' girls sit around and chatter about the charter for hours on end  at City Council meetings so he can somehow fleece the rubes of this here burg with his quick thinking mind, kinda like what  that fella Professor Harold Hill tried to do to the salt of the earth folks in that there River City.

Some of the swells from the local newspapers will be there to get some face time and to demonstrate their erudition, as they drone on with long speeches disguised as questions. Amongst this newsy crew, I am informed, is to be one guy what has Bette Paige hair

ANOTHER CEO ASKS EMPLOYEES TO VOTE FOR ROMNEY TO SAVE THEIR JOBS

When you go a little beneath the surface of the way the economy functions, you find the laws of nature at work.

For example, you see competition, natural selection, adaptation, evolution.

Those businesses that are successful, have instinctively incorporated nature's laws into their corporate structures, often without knowing it.

Businesses will talk in terms of supply and demand and product placement and similar concepts, but these terms are just the laws of nature being expressed in business language.

Obama doesn't understand these things.  Romney does.

We imagine...

Down at the McGovernment Drive-Through, the very liberal Weitzberg, Genis and Stephens arrive in their union bought Rolls Royce to place an order:

W,G & S: "We'll have a twenty-four pack of Government quad-burgers and fries, and super size that order please."

Order taker: "That's a whole lot of government, are you sure you folks want that much...that the three of you can use that much?"

W,G & S: " Hey, we don't have to pay for it, lard it on."

STEVE MENSINGER'S CONTRACT WITH COSTA MESA

Folks, the lefties are trying to muddy the waters here in Costa Mesa with their thousands of rapid negative responses to every article that appears in the Daily Pilot about the election.

Don't be confused and don't waver.

Click on the above headline and you can read what Steve Mensinger is promising to do in Costa Mesa.

We believe the two other good candidates: Gary Monahan and  Colin McCarthy completely agree with Steve.

In essence, these three want to improve Costa Mesa; right size government and improve our quality of life.

And, they're doing it, not just talking about it.
