Tamara Letourneau named assistant CEO/administrative services director

Tamara
Letourneau, who has served as interim assistant chief executive officer for
Costa Mesa for three years, has been hired as the City’s assistant chief
executive officer/administrative services director.
Letourneau,
whose first day in the permanent position will be Feb. 17, will oversee human
resources, labor relations, the Parks and Community Services Department,
county-run libraries in Costa Mesa, and employee development and communications,
among other duties.
“Tammy’s
expertise, professionalism and commitment to public service has served the City
extremely well over the past three years,” said City CEO Tom Hatch. “We’re very
fortunate that she will now be part of the Costa Mesa’s permanent management
team.”
Letourneau—who has 25 years of experience in local government—worked for the City as a contract employee through Management Partners. Prior to working at Management Partners, Letourneau was the city manager for Yorba Linda and Sierra Madre.

She also
is an adjunct professor at California State Polytechnic University Pomona and
the University of La Verne. Letourneau is the current co-chair and a founding
member of Women Leading Government and is also the current co-chair of the Cal
ICMA Ethics Committee. In addition, she is a contributor to the book “Democracy
at the Doorstep, Too!” by Mike Conduff and Melissa Byre Vossmer, which was
published in 2012.
She
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration California State
Polytechnic University Pomona and a master’s degree in Public Administration
from California State University, Long Beach.
Her
annual salary will be $183,852.
