If the City must get involved in this, then homeless apartments and other services should be put on the edge of town in an industrial area, not near stable families with little children.
The myth perpetuated by some homeless advocates (some of whom make big salaries for their "compassion"), and furthered by local reporters is that many or most of the homeless people are simply down on their luck ordinary folks caught up in a poor economy. And, they advance this myth by showcasing any fairly normal looking homeless family that they can find (small kids in the photos are a must).
The reality is that many homeless people are mentally ill and can snap at any minute.
It is axiomatic that if you feed and give other comfort freebies to any organism, that you will attract more of that type of organism. The reason this is an axiom is because you can put in the name of any organism from a bacteria to a pigeon to coyotes to humans and it is still true.
Remember, don't feed the
And, speaking of coyotes, you may also recall that the CMPD recently put out a notice on how to keep coyotes away from your home, your pets and your children: Don't feed the coyotes by leaving dog or cat food outside. So, if you want coyotes to move on to another area, you simply don't feed them, and then the coyotes will move to where they can get food. What you don't do, is build coyote apartments and put in coyote feeding locations.
Yes, dear friends, all living organisms tend to gravitate to where they are comfortable. And, one of the first things all organisms need for comfort, is food. Then comes shelter.
So, if you want more of any kind of organism in a City, just feed them and give them shelter--make them feel comfortable. If you want fewer of any kind of organism, just don't feed them and don't give them shelter and they will move to greener pastures where the kind and compassionate (highly paid homeless advocates) will give them free food and free shelter.

FREEDOM NEWS: FEDERAL JUDGE HAS RULED THAT UTAH'S LAW CRIMINALIZING POLYGAMY IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL
Early Mormons practiced polygamy, but after the Feds told them that Utah couldn't become a state unless they gave up the practice, the Mormon church abandoned polygamy.
Then, just as there is no stronger anti-smoking or anti-drinking advocate than one who has just given up smoking and drinking, the main stream Mormons became stridently anti-polygamy and helped enact laws that are so onerous and against individual freedom that they will all eventually fall.

| Robert Ooten (from CMSD Website, HERE) |
Take a gander at the above really stupid column by Robert Ooten of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District (CMSD).
Notice how Ooten makes a ham handed attempt to divert attention away from the real issues raised by Jim Fitzpatrick, in Fitzpatrick's earlier column HERE, to the removal of a small private recycling center over on W. 19th Street that neighbors had been complaining about. Honestly, folks, this was such a clumsy diversion that it's laughable.
Hey, Ooten, do you go out and comparison shop when you buy a family car or furniture or groceries? Of course you do. So, why doesn't the Costa Mesa Sanitary District comparison shop by getting bids from different trash haulers instead of constantly giving the contract to one hauler?
Do yourself a favor, dear ratepayer, and closely read Jim Fitzpatrick's column--HERE it is again. Now, ask yourself as a ratepayer here in Costa Mesa, if you think you are getting the best bang for your buck by having the CMSD give out a no-bid contract? Is that how you shop for things? You don't compare prices? You don't try to get the best deal?
The directors at the CMSD owe a fiduciary responsibility to the ratepayers to get the best deals. Do you think that fiduciary duty is being met by giving out evergreen contracts to one trash hauler?
According to Jim Fitzpatrick, and as he states in his column, the very same trash hauler that hauls Costa Mesa's trash is charging Newport residents less than it charges Costa Mesa residents. Why? Because, before Newport gave them the contract, they comparison shopped and the trash haulers all had to compete for the business.
Competition works to keep prices low and services high. That's why we should have open bids on our business and not evergreen contracts. It's just common sense.
Oh, and if you want a really good belly laugh, be sure to read the comments from the usual lefty haters and bigots following Fitzpatrick's column, and HERE it is again for the third time.
It's always the same names from this clown gang that show up attacking anyone who wants to improve Costa Mesa, save money, or have better governance. It's the touchy-feely neurotics who don't want good governance, they just want a shoulder to cry on about everything that troubles their tiny twisted brains.
They just want to discuss their feelings. "Sniff, sniff, whaaa, whaa, big bad men are bullies because they wouldn't let me ramble on about nothing at City Council meetings, whaaaa, whaaaa, sniff, sniff, and Fitzpatrick was appointed to the Planning Commission, sniff, sniff, by the big bad men, whaaaaa, whaaa, so whatever he writes must be bad, sniff, sniff."
Here's Harriett again to sing a song for the lefties.
