Reince Priebus was one of the GOP punks who were trying to kill of Trump's chances with all kinds of smears. Then, Trump let them know that he had cards up his sleeve that he could use if he got pissed off enough. And, the big card for a guy with such high polling numbers is to say "Screw you, GOP," and go third party.
If Trump went third party, it would destroy any GOP chances of winning the White House and maybe many other races as well.
Trump knows how to wheel and deal and he knows how to use leverage when he has to . The guy's no chump like many of the GOP suits.
