However, don't expect any real discussion or solutions about real problems in Costa Mesa. If you go, bring your hanky.
Let us explain.
By the way, don't write us with exceptions to what we write below. We know there are many. We know we're generalizing.
What do you, as a man, usually do when this happens? You try to help them solve their problems by suggesting alternative solutions.
What do the women do? They may get mad at you or cut off the conversation. This confuses you. That's because you're a man. You're not from Planet Touchy-Feely. But, read on and we'll teach you how to fake it.
Women don't usually want problem solving solutions. They want sympathy. They want you to just listen, nod your head with a concerned look on your face and say "tsk, tsk"at the proper moments and agree with them.
If you're smart and just shut up, and nod at the appropriate moments with a concerned look as we suggest, a woman may finish her story and thank you for all your help. In other words, you just thought like a woman. You didn't do anything. You didn't offer suggestions to solve her problem. You just kept your mouth shut and you showed sympathy. And, to her, that makes you a good man. Honest.
Our observations of Wendy tell us that she's like that. She'll listen to whatever people complain about. She'll nod her head. She'll show concern. She'll say "tsk, tsk." Then, nothing will get done to solve your problem.
Now, if you're a woman, you won't mind this. This is what you expected and wanted from Wendy.

THE POWER STRUGGLE IN COSTA MESA CONTINUES
- Will the out of towners and their lefty boot lickers be able to keep the status quo?
- These are the folks who think the Westside is fine just like it is.
- They welcome illegal aliens as part of the "community."
- They want bigger government.
- They want citizens to pay more for services than we have to pay.
- They want to keep making some charity bosses rich as these charity bosses play the role of Mother Teresa (while showing up at meetings to ask for money in their new luxury cars).
- They want our government to continue paying 80% of money received to employees.
Be sure to check the comments after just about any article in the Daily Pilot to read what some of these out of town haters and bigots have to say. As a citizen of Costa Mesa, you are one of the bosses of this city. Are you pleased that so many of your out of town employees are so arrogant and hateful? Are these the types of employees you want working for you?

CITY COUNCIL TELLS STAFF TO BRING BACK A REPORT ON E-VERIFY
Costa Mesa moved a step forward to using E-Verify in the city last night after the City Council told staff to look into the program and come back with a report and recommendation.
In other Council business, the Council gave the nod to a developer who wants to build four residential lofts
on the corner of Wallace Ave. and 20th Street. This is the type of development that Westside Improvers have been calling for. Hopefully, this developer will now also try to find land on the bluffs where he can build similar lofts.

CM Press, do you find it as disturbing as I that the Union speaks out against a program like Pop Warner, so they can line their pockets? Don't invest in kids, give us the money instead and we'll take it down to South County and spend it there. It disgusts me!

Wendy's greatest contribution to CM as far as I can tell is creating a good looking daughter. Other than that, I agree with your assessment of her. My way with woman in general has also been the "fix it" approach. I can't help myself. I see a problem and I want to fix it. It goes with the gender. Wendy and I met once to solve a problem also and she got all fired up, ran into the Roeder's office, made a big stink and then dropped the issue. At the time she made me feel the same way you described.

Wendy Leece works only for the union, .... nobody else. I can only assume she has been "bought and paid for". She sure shows no interest in us taxpayers. None whatsoever.
