LOOKS LIKE COSTA MESA EMPLOYEES WILL GET THEIR DAY IN COURT

Not really big news as summary judgments are only granted when there seems to be no case at all, and there's almost always a case, unless, say, your suit is completely absurd such as suing the Zombies of Mars because you can't sleep at night.

The interesting twist in the employee law suit is that the jury will be considering a case of the little guys against big government, but the little guys in this case aren't the employees.

The little guys are our privately employed, part time, City Council members trying to stick up for the citizens of Costa Mesa against the big government unions of the employees.  Will the City's attorneys even try to explain this so a jury of people who may not  understand the basics of Costa Mesa's political system get it?

Will the jury be told that the just past mayor is basically a bar tender trying to support a wife and six kids?  Will they be told that another Councilmember is an  antiques dealer trying to make a living in a tough economy? And will they be told that two other Councilmembers are trying to support their families in the real estate field in one of the worst markets in history?

We're special.

THE WEATHERMAN SAYS IT'LL BE CLOUDY TODAY IN COSTA MESA

Let us now listen in to a couple of the fascistic lefties who want Costa Mesa to stay under the control of their fellow lefties up in Sacramento:

Dingbat 1: "Cloudy?!  Costa Mesa was never cloudy before the MEN on this City Council took over.  They brought the clouds.  Only the saintly Wendy is against the clouds."

Wendy:  "Yes, I'm against clouds in Costa Mesa.  We're special, we Costa Mesans, we love our  sky. Our sky is special.  It's a Costa Mesa sky.  It's not some cut and paste sky.

"And, we love our out of town employees and we have to raise fees on residents so we can keep paying our highly trained public safety personnel--whom we love--$300,000 to  hold a hose.  Our employees are special. They're Costa Mesa employees. They're not cut and paste employees.  It's expensive for our highly trained employees to live in Newport Beach.  They deserve every penny we pay them.  Remember Costa Mesans, we're special. Be true to your school city.  Also remember that I'm a true conservative because I put "In God We Trust" on the wall of the City Council chambers."

Dingbat 2 to Dingbat 1 (sotto voce): "Psssst,  tell Wendy to ixnay on the godnay stuffnay. Most of us lefties think she's a religious nut, and we're holding our noses as we praise her because she's the only lefty we have on the Council to give us credibility.  Next, she'll be saying she's against baby killing.  Then, we'll really lose support of the libs who we're trying to convince that it's okay for us to cozy up to Wendy in order to try to broaden our meager base of support.

If we can trick enough voters into voting to keep Costa Mesa under the boot of our fellow lefties in Sacramento, we're going to drop nutcake Wendy off beside the road out in the country someplace and in her permanent muddled state, she probably won't be able to find her way back here. In fact, she's so muddled that she'll probably think she's here when she's there, anyway."
-------------------
And so it goes among the tiny brain lefty folk as they try to destroy Costa Mesa and keep residents as the Golden Geese and ATMs for out of town employees.

The lefties don't like a right-sized government closer to the people.  They don't like cutting back government at all.  They live for big government that does everything for them.   The lefties are against individual responsibility and individual initiative and self-determination.  Their world view is of a government that controls everything.  But, you already know that.  So, don't be fooled when the lefties come knocking with their fear mongering about local control.  Local control is good.  It takes the power away from lefty politicians in Sacramento and gives it to us right here in Costa Mesa.

Honestly, folks, the lefties against the charter are the local versions of one worlders.  Scratch them a little and you'll find that they love central control of everything that you do.

HOTEL CALIFORNIA

There are 478 incorporated cities in California.

That's sort of like 478 hotel rooms of various sizes and with various amenities and features in a big hotel.

Now, some of the functions of that hotel are better run from a central location--let's call it the Sacramento Room--way down in the basement.

But, other functions, such as what actually goes on in your room--let's call it the Costa Mesa Room--are better controlled by you.

In your room, you want to have your own thermostat so you can set the temperature the way you like it.  You want to have your own light switches so you can turn the lights on and off when you want.  You want to have the controller for the TV so you can watch what you want. You want to have the hot and cold water controls for the shower the way you like them.

But, there are some folks who say you shouldn't have control over your own room and that the people down in the Sacramento Room should have the thermostat, the light switches, the TV controller and the hot and cold water controls for every room, and they'll decide what is right for your room.

Is that the kind of hotel room you would pay for?  Wouldn't you rather have local control in your own room?

Folks, that's what the charter is about; giving Costa Mesans control of the things within our own city. It's no more complicated than that even though the antis--the local anti-freedom gang--want to keep having Sacramento control what goes on in our city.  To us, that's just plain stupid and that's why we're going to vote for the charter.  We like freedom and local control.

PRO CHARTER FOLKS LOOKING FOR SOME VOLUNTEERS FOR FREEDOM & HOME RULE

The Costa Mesa City Council has voted to place the proposed City Charter on the ballot for the June 5th primary election.

The pro charter folks are asking for help to make sure the taxpayers and residents of Costa Mesa have all the facts about the Charter!

Please get involved by contacting  (Colin@CMTax.org) or Ethan Temianka (Ethan@CMTax.org) immediately. There are plenty of opportunities to help with the Charter movement, so please email them today!

As the CM PRESS has written before, we find it absolutely silly that the anti-charter folks are trying to make a case to keep Costa Mesa under the boot of Sacramento.  The antis aren't very bright.  They're a bunch of lefties who are trying to fool voters by claiming that they have a broad based movement.  Broad based?  Baloney, it's mostly the same small crew of crackpots who organized during the last election.  Same names, same screwballs, same stupid positions.  They like big government.  Big charities.  Big spending.

But, we at the CM PRESS may be biased.  You see, we've always been for freedom, for individual rights, for smaller government closer to the people.  The charter will free Costa Mesans from some of the arbitrary rulings of out of touch politicians in Sacramento and will allow Costa Mesa to improve as we ourselves see fit.

GUSHY COLUMN IN THE DAILY PILOT ABOUT SOY

In the above puff piece you'll read how some SOY kids are being paid to get better grades. Swell.

What you won't read in the piece is that SOY doesn't seem to serve the whole community of Costa Mesa but just Latinos. At least this was true with the statistics we've seen in past years from SOY, which they were forced to submit to the City of Costa Mesa to get CDBG funds.

Maybe the DAILY PILOT will ask SOY how many non-Latino kids the outfit serves. Nah, don't expect the PILOT to ask that question. The PILOT probably knows the answer but doesn't want their mostly White  readers to know that their kids may be the wrong color to get freebies.

If you're a White parent in Costa Mesa and you're not rich, wouldn't you like SOY to give your kids money for better grades and money for college?  Why should your kids be excluded from the freebies?

Also, if SOY is doing such a great job, then why are the schools on the Westside still showing  low student scores after the 18 years that SOY has been "helping."

Some Improvers believe that one of the reasons the Westside has not been able to improve is because it is being made into a permanent ethnic ghetto by various charities and non-profits and by some Great White Mothers and Great White Fathers who do their missionary work, and practice their misplaced compassion, in the Third World that is growing just a few miles from where they live.

Maybe SOY can be relocated to Mesa Verde and can help some kids there, or maybe it can move to the far Eastside bordering Newport Beach and bring in a little diversity to the organization.

FURTHER TO OUR COLUMN ABOUT IMPROVERS (below the one on firefighting)

So, if the Improvers do abandon Righeimer and Mensinger because they believe nothing is happening to improve the Westside in meaningful ways and they come to believe that Messrs. R and M seem to be part of a new establishment that is still funding  the nonprofits that are helping keep the Westside down and are behind having staff focus on other areas of the city while ignoring the Westside, does this mean the Improvers will join with the people who are trying to kill the charter and who constantly whine about R and M?

The answer is probably not.

There is a third position.  There are other possibilities.  There are other possible candidates in the wings who will promise to improve the Westside and who say they will put doing so as their highest priority.

MAYBE IT IS TIME TO OUTSOURCE OUR FIREFIGHTING

In this article HERE from the OC REGISTER you can read the ping ponging on why Costa Mesa is paying firefighters so much of our moola.

We think Righeimer has it about right in his comments.  So, if we're at an impasse, then maybe we should turn our firefighting over to the County as so many other cities have done.

Back when this was actually being discussed, we found it telling that some of the usual crackpots argued against this because, in their usual ignorance, they thought that if we turned firefighting over to the county that we'd have no fire stations in Costa Mesa and emergency fire calls would have to be answered from faraway County stations.  Some of these same people are now fighting the charter.

There's just no cure for stupidity and it makes little sense to keep trying to tell these people the truth. The good Councilmembers could put out information on firefighting or the charter or outsourcing or anything else for ten years and we'd still get some of these numbnuts showing up saying they weren't informed.

IMPROVERS WANT CITY TO SET THE WESTSIDE AS ONE OF ITS HIGHEST PRIORITIES

Why is the City setting Harbor Blvd. as a high priority and why is highly paid Peter Naghavi spending his time on that instead of working on the Westside?

Just a reminder.  We're in the election season now, and there may be some surprises if the present City Council stiffs the Westside.

Think that's an empty statement?  If so, you'd better check old newspaper clippings and the election results since 2000.  We'll give you a minute to do that....(drumming fingers on desk)....okay, you're back.  Now, did you see all the surprise and teeth gnashing in those newspaper articles and letters/comments  from many of the same low I.Q. types who are now constantly attacking the good Councilmembers?

They were certain that the Improvers couldn't elect an unelectable guy in 2000 who had lost nine times before.  Not only did the Improvers elect him, but he got more votes than anyone else running that year.

The numbnuts were certain that the Improvers couldn't elect a no-name Sheriff's Deputy.  They were wrong again.

They were certain that the Improvers couldn't elect another guy from the Westside. Wrong again.

They also got Wendy Leece elected.

And, the first time Jim Righeimer ran, the Improvers didn't get behind him and he lost.

The second time, they got behind him and he won.

Maybe this is all just bluster and maybe the Improvers had nothing to do with any of these election wins.  After all, they don't have any formal organizations.  There is no leader. You seldom see many of them at City meetings.  They're sort of the ghost in the election machine.

A few years ago, the newspapers were all over the Improvers trying to find out how we did it each time. Some even suspected dirty deeds.  Here's the secret:  The Improvers outsmarted the opposition each and every time.  There's more to the way they are organized, but we're not talking.

Here's our suggestion to the good Councilmembers: You may not see many of the Improvers at City Council meetings lately, but if the present City Council doesn't start moving fast to improve the Westside, the good Councilmembers may have a hard time in the election this year without the hidden hand of the Improvers.

MONAHAN STEPS DOWN AS MAYOR

Will remain on the Council.  New mayor will be appointed on the 13th.  Expect the new Mayor to be Jim Righeimer and the new Mayor Pro Tem to be Steve Mensinger.  Sorry Wendy, no one trusts you anymore except the usual airheads.  You're finished in politics.

ONE POLITICAL TWO STEP THAT WE'RE TIRED OF HEARING

Have you ever had a politician tell you that he or she agrees with you on, say, 90% of your issues so you should support the politician? We have had some say that to us, and we're tired of hearing it.

It's an an absurd thing to say and is just calculated to fool dopes.  How's that?  Simple.  The unspoken assumption in giving that or some other percentage on "issue" agreement is the false premise that all issues are equal in weight.  They're not.

For example, you may have ten things that are important to you here in Costa Mesa, but nine of them may be relatively minor and the tenth one may be a mega issue for you.  So, if the politician is with you on the nine minor issues but against you on that one mega issue would you be fooled into supporting him or her?  We wouldn't.

We bring this up, because to us the Westside is the mega issue.  It outweighs all other issues.

Another mega issue, which is really a subset of the Westside issue, is the wasting of our money on non-profits that act as magnets to draw people here who can't afford to live here and which then help them continue to live here.  This has a corrosive effect on the city.  Look at the Westside where this is going on.  Look at the schools over there.  Look at the non-profits over there.

Misplaced compassion that tells people to just stay here and not move to where they can afford to live, drives down the city for the rest of the residents.

We're tired of hearing lip service about Westside improvement but no action.

Do we sound pissed off?  We are.  We want to see action on the Westside.  We're tired of being glad handed by those who are in City government as elected officials, appointed officials or employees and then seeing little or no action.

CHANGE THE PLANTS IN THE MEDIAN ON W. 19 TH STREET!

The City Council should use some of our CDBG funds to put in proper plants on the median on W. 19th Street instead of putting it into the pockets of the charity bosses.  The present plants don't do anything for the appearance of the street.

As we've suggested before, the City Council can simply ask the plant folks in Newport Beach for some suggestions, as they seem to do a better job than we're doing here in Costa Mesa.

If you doubt it, just cross the border into Newport Beach on almost any connecting street and you'll see a big difference.  You go from drab and boring in Costa Mesa, to colorful and exciting as soon as you enter Newport Beach.

You either have a sense of plant aesthetics or you don't.  Costa Mesa seems to lack that sense and Newport seems to have it.

WESTSIDE GETTING SCREWED AGAIN!

At the City Council study session on Tuesday (3/13), a presentation will be made about a vision for improving Harbor Blvd. HERE

So, what's wrong with that?  Nothing, except it's the wrong focus and the wrong priority.  The focus and priority should be on the Westside.

Look folks, you may recall that it was the CM PRESS going to a City Council meeting a couple of months ago and requesting that a sign be put at the entrance of the Westside on W. 19th Street to start the re-branding of the area that started the process going in that regard.

There's still no sign, but we're told that a concept will be presented to the City Council at their meeting on 3/20.  Okay, so government moves slowly.  But, all we're talking about is a crummy sign that should have gone up years ago and now this is all the City Council is going to do for the Westside?  One crummy sign?  Where's the action on improving the Westside?  Where are the bulldozers knocking down slum buildings and putting in parking lots for Crissy Brooks so she won't have to park on sidewalks? (see story below).

Help Crissy improve her Shalimar slum neighborhood, City Council, by taking some of that CDBG money and buying up a building in her slum and tearing it down.

And, about that sign.  We hear from a little birdie that a member of the Planning Commission has now jumped out in front of the CM PRESS sign request and is acting like he's leading the parade.  If this guy wants any respect, he'd better come up with his own ideas.  And, if he doesn't have any original ideas, which is likely, he can contact us and we'll tell him what needs to be done next on the Westside.

Crissy Brooks

GIRL FROM EXPENSIVE MESA VERDE MOVES TO THE THIRD WORLD (2 miles away on the Westside) AND JOYFULLY (and sometimes tearfully, and at other times joyfully/tearfully at the same time) GUSHES ABOUT THE HUMANITY OF IT ALL

In her latest dispatch from the Third World (aka the Westside, and specifically the overcrowded and illegal infested Shalimar slum) HERE, Crissy Brooks, who runs the MIKA non-profit, tells us how she learned to park her car on a crowded slum street and that she roughs it by sharing a washing machine and a barbecue. Why, she has even learned to make "fashionable purses out of plastic grocery bags."

What else has Crissy learned?  Well, according to the agenda for the City Council study session coming up on March 13, HERE, Crissy has learned how to ask the City Council for $ 7,500 of your hard earned dollars to help "youth"  in the Third World (about 2 miles from her girlhood home in Mesa Verde, remember). Actually, she's no piker (with your money) and has asked for $20,000, but the 3R Committee cut it back to $ 7,500 (more about this request a little further down).

Now, what about citizens who don't want any of their money to go to keeping the Westside as slum central and who don't want any of their money to go to suspected illegal aliens and their families?

There are three outs for the squishes on the 3R Committee and on the City Council to use to try to silence and mollify these critics of this money giveaway.

The first out is that non-profits DON'T ask if their clients are in the country legally or not, so the squishes can pretend they have no common sense and  that it hasn't been proven that any of the money will help illegal aliens.

The second out  is that Crissy's request is for "youth," (a variant of  "it's for the children so don't be heartless").

And, the third out for squishes is that Crissy's over the top request for $ 20,000 was cut to a "mere" $ 7,500 (read, "See, we didn't give her all she wanted so we're fiscally tough, by gum.").  In this regard, we suspect that Crissy, who used to be on the 3R Committee that makes the recommendations for money handouts to the City Council (and who now has slum street smarts and can make plastic purses), knows enough to ask for more than you expect so the committee and the City Council can cut you back to what you really expect to get.

At any rate, Crissy is apparently a very busy girl, what with learning to park her car in an overcrowded barrio to sharing the washing machine and barbecue and learning to make fashionable purses out of plastic shopping bags, because in this column  HERE, written by Crissy, we learn that she drove down to Tijuana to cry with some of her illegal alien neighbors who had been arrested and deported.

Sigh.

The CM PRESS position is that none of the money should go to non-profits (the same ones are back year after year and conditions never improve on the Westside) which is akin to giving a man a fish, but that every penny should be used to fix up the Westside infrastructure so the area improves, which is like giving a man a fishhook.

Here's one tidbit that squishes try to gloss over, and I know this for a fact because I used to be on the 3R Committee:  NOT ONE PENNY OF THE CDBG FUNDS HAS TO GO TO NON-PROFITS.  The City Council can use every last penny on infrastructure on the Westside.  The only reason City Councils give money to the non-profits is because past lefties on the Council started doing so every year and now many new Councilmembers wrongly think that they have to give your money (and it is your money) to the non-profits.

Oh, and here's something else. The present City Council has a provision in the proposed charter that will stop unions from taking money from City workers, against their will, to fund union activities.  But what about the Council taking YOUR money to fund nonprofits that you may not want to fund?  Hmmmm?

To be absolutely clear: If you want to give your money to Crissy's MIKA or any other nonprofit, that's your business and have at it.  But, the City Council shouldn't force all of us to give money to nonprofits that we don't want to support.

FITZPATRICK RETAINS LEGAL COUNSEL TO FIGHT THE RAILROAD JOB

“Today I retained Steve Baric, (http://bamlawyers.com/partners/steve-baric/) the highly respected government and elections law attorney, to defend me against the orchestrated railroad job by my colleagues to kick me off the Costa Mesa Sanitary District’s board of directors. I was elected with 11,783 votes in 2010 and I’ll be darned if four votes and a half-baked legal opinion can trump the electorate. I am outspoken and uncomfortable for my colleagues because I have called for competitive bidding for a trash contract that has not been opened to the market since 1943. That’s not a typo – Costa Mesa’s residential trash contract has not been bid out since World War II! I will always fight for the taxpayers even if it means upsetting the sweetheart deals others have cut.”

We're special. We want you people in England to keep making the rules for us in America."

"PRESIDENT LINCOLN, DON'T FREE THE SLAVES. We're not against freedom, but just this freedom. Mr. President, plese listen to us House Negroes, not the Negroes in the fields who want freedom.  We're not ready for this.  This Emancipation Proclamation is a cut and paste job.  Please listen to us and have an elected committee of House Negroes work on a document.  Slow down, President Lincoln.  What's the rush?  You're trying to shove this freedom stuff down our throats.  We need time to read this document, it's a whole one page long."

Goslow Wendy

VOTERS WILL GET TO FREE COSTA MESA FROM THEIR MASTERS IN SACRAMENTO IN JUNE DESPITE THE BLEATINGS OF THE USUAL NUTCASES

Last night, the good Councilmembers voted to put the charter on the June ballot.  This was a good move.

The one dissenting vote was that of Goslow Wendy who seems to be the empty-headed leader of the dingbats who regularly show up to wave paper in the air and disrupt the meetings with clap.

The latest dingbat strategy is to call the charter the Righeimer Charter.  And, as usual, the dingbats are showing their hatred and bigotry and, yes, their neuroses by calling it that.  If you doubt our use of the term neuroses, then you need to watch some of these meetings.

We're convinced that the hatred some of the dingbats show for Jim Righeimer is based on the fact that he's proven himself to be a decisive leader who won't back down when he thinks he's right, and that his self-assurance flies in the face of some of the neurotics who are so confused and unsure of themselves and who feel so powerless about life in general that they're  like a gaggle of chickens with their heads cut off all running around the barnyard not knowing which way to go.

To these neurotics, people who are sure of themselves seem arrogant and thus, in their twisted minds, are their enemies and the source of their feelings of inadequacy. To try to not feel inadequate and to feel as though they have some power, and to give meaning to their meaningless lives, they strike out against such individuals.

Yes, some of these miserable dingbats are pathological.  Again, if you doubt this, just watch the meetings and you'll see the same twitchy few go to the podium week after week to ramble on with mostly unfocused hatred as far as issues go, but focused on Righeimer as a person.

They're against everything that Jim Righeimer does, no matter what it is.  It's not about politics or what's best for Costa Mesa for these nutcases; its personal, but most probably wouldn't be able to tell you why it's personal; that's how the subconscious mind works.

Meanwhile, day and night, the demons keep banging around in their subconscious minds whispering that Righeimer is the reason they feel so inadequate.

The Righeimer Charter?  Nope.  It's a charter for the people of Costa Mesa and will free us from politicians from Biggs and Ceres, and Dorris, and Loyalton and Sand City and Blue Lake and other cities in California that most Costa Mesans have never heard of, and will give local control to those of us who do live right here in Costa Mesa.  Why would any sane Costa Mesan want to have a politician from Biggs or Sand City tell us what is right for us here in Costa Mesa?

So, nutcases, instead of going to City Council meetings all the time, maybe you should seek out professional help for your feelings of inadequacy.  Jim Righeimer isn't your problem.  The demons in your head are.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING GOING ON RIGHT NOW

The CM PRESS just heard CEO Tom Hatch talk about some improvements on Harbor Blvd that will begin shortly.

Hey, Mr. Hatch, the improvements need to be made on the Westside and especially, right now, on W. 19th Street.

How about putting some effort into the Westside?

READ NINE PAGE PROPOSED CHARTER HERE

Unless you're a Goslow Wendyite you should be able to read and understand the proposed charter within a few minutes.  It's well written, scans easily, uses plain English and is to the point.

The CM PRESS supports this charter and looks forward to voters passing it.

The charter will take some power away from Sacramento and give it to the citizens of Costa Mesa where it belongs.

Here are a few things we see in this charter:

  • Self-governance
  • Self-determination
  • Self-reliance
  • A government that is closer to the people; which is better than one far away and out of touch with the local community.

BLACK WHO RAPED AND MURDERED A YOUNG WHITE WOMAN IN COSTA MESA ON TRIAL

Punk attacked and raped several other women.  The question that should be asked and answered is whether or not he specifically targeted Whites.  If so, then hate crime charges should also be lodged.

Note in the above linked article where this creep was staying when he murdered this woman--one of the troubled motels on Harbor Blvd. that the good Councilmembers are trying to remove.

And, what do some of the Goslow Wendyites anonymously write about the good Councilmembers trying to remove those motels that require frequent police action?  Why, they write that the good Councilmembers are somehow trying to profit from getting rid of these places. That's the level of intelligence of some of these low I.Q. types who have been infesting recent City Council meetings.  Stupid jerks.

STABBING NEAR HARBOR/ADAMS--LATINOS
[Below from the CMPD press release]

On April 2, the Costa Mesa Police responded to the Pizza Hut located at 2750 Harbor Blvd., for a report of a male victim with a stab wound to his neck. The victim is now identified as 20-year old Julio Salgado of Costa Mesa. He walked to the Pizza Hut to seek assistance, after being involved in a fight nearby.

It was determined that Salgado had been with a group of people whom had congregated by the pool area of the apartment complex, located at 2700 Peterson Place (a short distance from the Pizza Hut), after leaving a party in the same complex. The victim was involved in a physical altercation with the suspect, apparently over comments made to a female in the group. The victim, suspect, and other subjects left the pool area, believing the police would be called because of the commotion. Several minutes later, while the victim was walking on Adams Avenue near Peterson Place, he was again confronted by the suspect he fought with earlier. A second fight ensued, after which the suspect ran off. Salgado then realized he had been stabbed during the second fight. Salgado walked to the open Pizza Hut for assistance.

Salgado was treated at the scene by Costa Mesa Fire Department Paramedics and subsequently transported to Western Medical Center. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released. His injuries consisted of three stab/laceration type wounds to his upper body.

The suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, 17-20 years old, light complexion, approximately 6’ tall and 150 lbs., last seen wearing a gray flannel shirt and dark pants/jeans. He is further described as possibly having facial injuries consistent with his involvement in a fight. It is believed Salgado and the suspect may be acquainted; however, Salgado has not provided information regarding the suspect’s identity.

During the police investigation of the incident, officers located and recovered the knife used, which had been discarded by the suspect. In checking the apartment complex, officers located and detained Jessie Ramirez, age 18, of Santa Ana, hiding by vehicles in the parking area. Ramirez matched the initial general suspect description, and it was determined Ramirez was one of the subjects involved in the initial altercation at the pool area. Ramirez was initially arrested for suspicion of attempted homicide. After further investigation and interviews, it was determined that Ramirez was not involved in the stabbing, is not a suspect in this case, and is a friend of the victim. Ramirez was subsequently released from custody and there are no pending or anticipated charges against him.

Both Salgado and Ramirez were determined to have an association to a Santa Ana based gang. There is presently no indication that either the initial fight by the pool or the subsequent stabbing of Salgado was gang motivated.

This incident is currently being investigated as an attempted homicide/assault with a deadly weapon. The Costa Mesa Police Department’s Gang Investigations Unit is conducting further investigation to locate others involved with the group at the pool area, locate and interview other potential witnesses, and identify the suspect in this case.

Any persons with information regarding this incident are encouraged to contact Costa Mesa Police Department Gang Investigators David Sevilla @ (714) 754-5057, or Jimmy Brown @ (714) 754-4908.

GO SLOW BRAINLESS ZOMBIES IN THE CHAMBERS TOMORROW NIGHT

The City Council votes tomorrow night on whether or not to put the charter on the June ballot.

Expect the vote to be 4-1 to do so.

The 1 will be Goslow Wendy, who will purse her lips and contort her face and slowly say some simple sentence things to the Goslow Wendyites who, brainless and zombie like, will not have a clue about what's going on but who will slowly go to the podiums to say the expected things and get attaboys from their slow thinking comrades in the audience.

The usual crackpots will once again give evidence in their slow thinking presentations why Costa Mesa is not called Costa Mensa.

HARDLINERS EXPECTED TO WIN IN IRANIAN ELECTIONS

Did you even know there were elections this past Friday in Iran?  Of course not.  The fact that Iran has democratic elections humanizes the Iranians and this isn't what the warmongers who want to attack Iran and spill American blood want, so there was a virtual blackout about the elections.

And what about Ahmadinejad painted as the big meany in the U.S. press?  He didn't run because he's termed out next year.

Oh well, the warmongers will have to find another Hitler of the month to spur war fever.
