As far as we can tell, it appears that the A3P is patterning itself on similar rightist parties in Europe and the BNP in the U.K.

The CM PRESS has long held that the U.S. would be better off and people would be better represented if we had a whole host of third parties that actually started getting people elected who would champion various interests.

As it is now, the Democrats and Republicans pretty much both have to play to the masses clustered under the center of the Bell Curve if they hope to be successful. This makes them two sides of the same coin.

But, under our non-parlimentary system of government it's always difficult for any third parties to gain any real traction. What usually happens is that such parties will pop up to promote a presidential candidate and will then dissappear into the woodwork when their candidate doesn't get elected.

In our view, a third party should build from the bottom up and develop a deep back bench that will allow the party to come up with good candidates.

In some of the third parties we've looked at, there doesn't seem to be much effort to build from the bottom up, and some of the candidates they run are often so peculiar that they get very few votes.

Maybe the A3P will be different. Time will tell.

SOME FOLKS NOT HAPPY WITH THE COSTA MESA CITY COUNCIL'S RECENT ACTION NAMING ALL OF COSTA MESA AS A RECOVERY ZONE

We understand that a request has been made for the Council to review the action it took at its January 19th meeting.

The CM PRESS agrees that the Council should take another look at what it has done. We also think that the Council should determine exactly what Triangle Square and the Auto Dealers plan to do to improve things.

Are we just going to throw good money after bad?

We also don't like the negative image this Recovery Zone action will convey.

It's now up to the Council to decide whether or not it will revisit this issue.

Frankly, we think the larger issue is, and always has been, whether or not the Council will stop dithering and actually do some work to make Costa Mesa a great city.

HERE'S a link to the complete agenda. If you look at the agenda you'll see actions to repave streets. In fact, you'll see such repaving actions on almost every City Council agenda.

This eternal repaving is the Costa Mesa City Council's version of fiddling while Rome burns and is the easy out for Council and staff to say they're improving Costa Mesa.

What the Council should be doing is thinning out the slums with that money instead of paving the streets in front of the slums.

The Costa Mesa City Council voted last night to beg for some federal bucks to help our city.

The questions that Costa Mesans should be asking are: Why do we need such help? Why has our city fallen to such a low level?

Let me tell you the answer: The Costa Mesa City Council has screwed up priorities and usually takes the easy way out.

Instead of doing the things that will really improve this city, the Council votes for fluff projects that eat up our tax money.

Here's an example. I've never seen a city that spends so much time, money and effort in repaving streets. Why do we do this? Because it's easy. And, who is going to complain if we fix potholes?

So, we spend millions of dollars repaving streets in front of slums, instead of thinning out the slums.

Mayor Mansoor bills himself as a fiscal conservative and rails about the excesses of the federal government, and then with his next breath he spends our money like a drunken sailor.

Hey Mansoor, stop with all the fancy big time talk about the feds and put into practice what you preach right here in Costa Mesa. Start being frugal. If you don't know how, give the CM PRESS a call and we'll tell you about a whole host of things that are wasting taxpayers' money.

As might be expected, we're seeing the usual whining about this from those who don't understand the ways of nature.

Well, we gourmands at the CM PRESS have little patience with such carping (sorry) and we think it's absurd to try to stop the Asian carp with electric fences and the other nonsense that's being tried.

If the native fish can't compete with the Asian carp, then to hell with the native fish.

Just change the menus and eat the Asian carp.

Chicago Bears defensive end Gaines Adams died today.

He was 26-years-old and was seemingly very fit and in perfect health.

Preliminary reports indicate the cause of death was due to cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart. Link

Blacks are 2 to 3 times more likely than Whites to have an enlarged heart. Link

When I read the article about Adams dying, I was reminded of an article I wrote several years ago about boxing in which I pointed out that, generally speaking, Whites have weaker chins, bleed more easily, and have slower feet and hands than Black boxers, but that Black boxers have weaker necks (especially on the sides) and weaker heart areas.

White boxers, again, generally, are easier to knock out with a right cross to the point of the chin than are black boxers, so if a White boxer thinks that all humans are the same, he may wonder why his right cross knockout punch, that has won him many bouts against White boxers, isn't working against Black boxers.

The point of the article was that by knowing the strengths and weaknesses of different opponents--including possible genetic strengths and weaknesses--a boxer can adjust his training and strategy.

So, if an opponent is White, a right cross may still be the most effective knock-out punch, but if the opponent is Black, a series of left and right hooks to the side of the head, and right crosses and jabs to the chest, may be more effective.

Well, according to this article there is almost no damage at all in the Dominican Republic.

So, we wonder, why aren't we hearing about rescue and other efforts coming from the Dominican Republic? Why is the rest of the world putting in so much effort when the Dominicans are right there on the same island?

The libs will try to say the reason is different levels of health care, blah, blah, blah, but the real reason is that whites have immunities to many diseases that other races lack.

One of the reasons that whites have some immunities that others lack is because of the Black Death that wiped out many Europeans in the 1300's.

Many of those who survived had genetic mutations that saved them. These saved ones then had the most children (ah, because they were the ones still alive) and passed on their mutations.

Today, most Europeans, both still in Europe and in the European diaspora, have the mutations.

This doesn't mean that indigenous Europeans (white people) are immune from everything.

We can and do get sick from other pathogens, but the H1N1 virus (at least in its present form) isn't that tough for us to fight.

DOES COSTA MESA REALLY NEED THE BIG BUCKS HELICOPTER PROGRAM? DO WE EVEN NEED A HELICOPTER AT ALL?

The OC WEEKLY is running a story about one of Costa Mesa's helicopter pilots who is about to be paid more than $ 23,000 per month of your tax money. You read that right. Link (Fixed)

Back in October, the CM PRESS spoke at a City Council meeting and we asked the Council why they were having the cops fly around in an expensive helicopter from Europe when they could get one for about a third of the cost that is made right in Torrance. We got the usual stupid blank looks from the out of touch Council that spends your money like drunken sailors and which has stupid priorities.

Here's an article that we wrote in CM PRESS # 849 on October 23, 2009 about the helicopters.

ABOUT THOSE HELICOPTERS AND THE BUDGET IN COSTA MESA

This is a Eurocopter EC120B. It is similar to the helicopter used by the CMPD. It's made in Europe (there's also a facility in Texas) and costs around $1.4 million.

This is a Robinson R44. It is manufactured in Torrance, Ca. and costs about $ 404,000. It appears to be cheaper to operate and maintain than the EC120B. It is not used by the CMPD.

Perhaps the Costa Mesa City Council should ask why the CMPD isn't using a Robinson Helicopter. Maybe there are some very good reasons for not using it, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

UPDATE: After we spoke and wrote about the helicopters, a CMPD police helicopter flew over our house a couple of times and used a loud sound making device for no apparent reason. Probably just a coincidence. Anyway, it caused one of our kids to run into the house and ask what was going on.

1. High bidder builds and runs outlet malls. An outlet mall this close to South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island would cause problems for them.
a). Outlet mall developer would tell Costa Mesa officials about the millions of dollars in revenue the city would receive. Would the city then change zoning, etc. to accommodate such a mall?
b). Outlet mall developer might cede some land to city to sweeten the deal.

2. The Guv might be talked into not accepting the bid; unless Great Pork forces have his ear and want the Fairgrounds shut down in Costa Mesa so the Great Pork will be the new OC Fairgrounds.
