Damon Dunn never voted until the last election and now he wants the GOP to anoint him as California's Secretary of State.

He joins that other bum Meg Whitman who didn't much care about politics until she fell out of bed one morning and decided to run for governor. Don't do us any favors, either of you.

We see a similar parade of bums every two years in Costa Mesa with our municipal elections.

A whole bunch of people who have never been active in the city, suddenly decide to run for City Council. Then, as the election process goes on, we're treated to these bums telling us how much they'll do for the city if they're elected and who often show by their comments that they don't really understand Costa Mesa at all.

When they lose, most disappear and are seldom heard from again.

We entered winter on December 21st--the Winter Solstice--which is the shortest day of the year (the day with the least amount of daylight hours). You may not have noticed, but your daylight hours have been increasing by about a minute a day since the 21st as the sun sets later and later and as we march toward spring, the season of new life.

HAPPENING RIGHT NOW...
6:49 PM--Friday, December 24, 2009--Yet another car in a serious collision and flipped over on its roof on Baker Street east of Fairview near St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. This is very close to the last car that was on its roof that we reported a couple of weeks ago.

The CM PRESS keeps trying to get some traffic enforcement for this stretch of Baker Street, but the CMPD just seems to ignore our requests. The problem with Baker Street is that people are using it as an alternative to the 405 to get to and from Huntington Beach and they're travelling at freeway speeds.

When the traffic signal turns red at Baker and Coolidge, there are usually several cars that run the light at high speed. This isn't a once in a while thing, but is constant but is especially noticed during rush hours.

Where are the CMPD traffic cops? They're usually a half mile west of this location doing their traffic stops near Baker and Fairview and usually during daylight hours.

AFGHANISTAN--OBAMA'S VIETNAM--AND EVEN WORSE?

Over a ten year period, Russia sent more than 600,000 troops into Afghanistan...and lost.

Now, Obama is leading the U.S. into the same situation that we can't win.

The reason we can't win is because we aren't fighting a nation. We're not even really fighting the Taliban or Al-Qaeda--even though that's what PR types in the U.S. government want you to believe.

We're fighting an idea--a religion--that has spread all over the planet. If we defeat the Taliban or Al-Qaeda, so what? The idea is still there and will return in its more fundamentalist forms.

What Obama is trying to do--and let's say it right out loud--is kill enough of the fundamentalist Muslims so our paid, cafeteria style Westernized Muslim puppets can run Afghanistan as an Americanized nation with us pulling the strings and propping up the government.

It won't work. The fundamentalist Islamic beliefs run very deep and started right with the life and teachings of Muhammad who grew his religion with the sword. Convert or die, was the method. It hasn't changed.

All Obama is accomplishing is making the U.S. more hated and a bigger enemy and thus a bigger target in the eyes of the world's Muslims.

As we try to buy off thousands of "moderate"Muslims so they'll be our friends, and as these bought friends then fear for their lives as they are uncovered by fundamentalist Muslims, they'll be resettled in the U.S. where the Muslim population will continue to grow; and from the midst of the growing Muslim population will emerge many fundamentalist Muslims who will continue the fight to convert everyone to Islam.

The fight next time won't be in the boonies of Afghanistan. It'll be on the streets of America.

America isn't used to dealing with people who really believe there is a God and who believe that they are doing His will.

We're used to dealing with people in the U.S. who have compartmentalized religion as something you do to impress your neighbors for an hour a week and who change their religious principles to be trendy.

In addition, there is a short view of history and there is a long view. Unfortunately, Americans and our leaders are used to taking the short view. We think if we can put and keep our paid puppets in power in Afghanistan, we'll have won.

The problem is that with modern communications and fast international travel along with the PC multi-culti nature of this age, the short view is the wrong view.

We don't even know what we're fighting for or what a real win means.

So, what should we do? We should respect the rights of all peoples to their own self-determination and stop trying to turn all nations into little Americas. In the specific case at bar, just let the people of Afghanistan work out their own problems. Just butt out.

When you read this article you realize that what is going on in Venezuela under Hugo Chavez is more than just socialism vs. capitalism between nations; it's competition between them right on the streets of Venezuela.

In addition, it seems that Chavez is trying to build a buy-local economy that is a rejection of the New World order and internationalism.

Meanwhile, the U.S. seems hell bent on making the world a global village instead of a planet of individual and unique nations.

In the global village model, we see the division of labor that used to be done within the U.S. now spreading out worldwide as the U.S. deindustrializes.

Where are the factories making things for the U.S.? They're in China, Japan and India.

The U.S. isn't making things anymore. We've become a nation of paper pushers and middlemen.

The CM PRESS believes this is a big mistake.

Wealth is created when you make or grow something. It is not made by having middlemen and paper pushers add their commissions to that original thing that was made or grown.

So, it's all getting a bit topsy turvy now.

The "capitalist" and "free market" U.S. is becoming the Communist International and socialist Venezuela is becoming nationally capitalistic and free market with the people of Venezuela, as represented by their government (that, unlike the U.S. government seems to actually care for the people of the nation), competing with the international big money types.

And, yes, there is a term to describe what is going on in Venezuela: National Socialism. But, maybe this time it will evolve without the uniforms and war machine.

Anyway, it's something to watch.

In CM PRESS # 993 we reported on Costa Mesa High School now being ranked as a failing school and we pointed out the reason is because the City Council is keeping the City full of slums that house illegal aliens who are flooding the school with non-English speakers.

In CM PRESS # 997 we reported that, according to the FBI, two cities in Orange County--Fullerton and Costa Mesa--are bucking a downward crime trend and are showing more crime. We said the reason for the increase in crime in Costa Mesa is because the City Council is keeping the City full of slums that are the breeding grounds and safe-havens for the mostly non-white criminals who are terrorizing our streets.

Folks, the City Council of Stanton, yes Stanton, understands the link between the slums in that City and the crime rate in that city and the Stanton City Council is doing what the CM PRESS has suggested for years for Costa Mesa--THIN OUT THE SLUMS!



Stanton is taking money that would go to fluff projects and using it to buy up slum buildings and tearing them down. And, it's not using redevelopment or eminent domain. Stanton is doing EXACTLY what the CM PRESS has suggested for Costa Mesa.


When will we get some City Council members in Costa Mesa who will get their priorities straight? Even the good Council members in Costa Mesa seem to be too often caught up in spending money on fluff instead of on making the base level improvements that the CM PRESS has been calling for.


It's as though we have a crumbling foundation on a house, and the City Council decides to spend money on buying new furniture for the house instead of fixing the foundation.



Fix the foundation, City Council, and then worry about the furniture.



All it would take to get this started is for three Councilmembers to say that they want this as their highest priority. That's it. Just three of the five could help fix Costa Mesa and this would improve our failing schools and decrease our violent crime rate.



And, in the long run, this would save the City money.

NEWPORT COPS LOOKING FOR TWO BLACKS IN DECEMBER 8, HOME INVASION ROBBERY

Newport Beach police have released photographs of two suspects in a violent Newport Coast home invasion robbery.

Darrin Mucker, 37, on the left, and Ronnie Labert Morrissette, 34, both of Los Angeles, are wanted on $1 million warrants in connection with the Dec. 8 robbery.

Mucker is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. Morrisette is 6 feet3 inches tall and weighs 275 pounds.

The men are suspected of being part of a group of five men that conspired to commit a robbery on Longboat in a private, gated Newport Coast neighborhood. Three of the men were quickly arrested, but two suspects were able to escape.

Both men should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the NBPD.

Anyone with information should contact the department’s hotline at 1-(800)-550-NBPD. Messages may be left anonymously.

THE TEA PARTY TO TAKE ON GOP AND DEMS?

For some time now, there's been a national political buzz from disgruntled conservatives/rightists about starting a new third party to be what the Republican Party was during the ascendancy and reign of Ronald Reagan.

A November Rasmussen poll gives some idea of the discontent that is brewing. Link

There are three major problems with such Third Parties in the U.S.

The first is that our political system--unlike those in Europe--makes it difficult for such Third Parties to ever gain any real power. Our system is set up to favor just two parties.

The second problem is probably an outgrowth of the first problem: Whenever Third Parties have emerged in the U.S. in modern times they focus on the presidential election, and when they inevitably lose, they fade away. This is because they haven't built from the bottom up and the leaders and money men behind these Third Parties don't seem to have long attention spans and appear incapable of doing the gritty local party building work that is needed once they are no longer center stage.

The third problem is that many of these nascent Third Parties attract too many noisy kooks who try to push their kook agendas instead of falling in line behind pragmatic positions.

When Ross Perot was running for president, we had a press pass to a Perot event in Long Beach. We reported on the event from the inside. Frankly, it was like a convention of Comic Book Guys from the Simpson's.

The Perot event reminded us of some Screen Actors Guild meetings we attended in the past.

It's like the carnival is in town. Billy Barty stands up and in a squeaky small person voice demands more roles for "short actors." Then, a resolution is passed to ask Iron Eyes Cody (who reportedly wasn't even a real Indian, but who may have been Italian) to stop selling Indian blankets and trinkets at the meeting. Some old guy, who was in a Gidget type surfing movie and who still has an orange tan and bottle-blond hair, is winking at us, or is just suffering from an eye twitch (we hope). Over in the corner, an 80-year-old guy who is really an extra, not an actor, is handing out photos of himself and hoping to be discovered. A black guy from South Central wearing a do-rag approaches us and says he's doing a no-budget independent film and he thinks we'd be right for one of the roles--which pays nothing--but, which will, as is usual, give us a reel of film to give to producers who may discover our great talent. Ho hum.

Anyway, like many others, we're pretty fed up with the GOP. And, the Dems are just not an option for us. We'd like to see a viable Third Party, but it has to be done right. We don't want to see such a Third Party grab whoever is hot right now--say, Sarah Palin--make a lot of noise, and then fade away.

We want to see a Third Party that has staying power and which will push limited government, that will promote reindustrialization of the U.S., that will end all immigration for at least a decade, that will stop phony wars that are not in our interest, that will stop most foreign aid, that will show enlightened self-interest toward the American people, and which will do everything to make life better for American citizens. And, that's just for starters.

If such a Third Party starts, we may attend the convention. And, since Iron Eyes Cody has now gone to the Spirit in the Sky or a heavenly pizzeria, we may stick a feather in our hair and ask to run the genuine Indian trinkets booth, or maybe we'll sell tea bags. As we say in the biz: "The rent doesn't stop just because you're in between roles."

IS VAN TRAN RACIST?

SHOULD PEOPLE VOTE FOR ONE OF THEIR OWN?

HOW DO YOU DEFINE ONE OF YOUR OWN?

[Those were the real questions, Congressman Rohrabacher, but we know that you know that.]

Last night, Costa Mesa's Congressman Dana Rohrabacher held a telephonic town hall meeting. The CM PRESS heard part of the meeting.

The most important question that we heard asked of Congressman Rohrabacher was posed by a woman who wanted to know Rohrabacher's take on the fact that Costa Mesa's present State Assemblyman Van Tran, who is now running against Loretta Sanchez for her seat in the U.S. Congress, seems to want to keep his Assembly seat in the hands of Vietnamese and thus hasn't endorsed Mayor Mansoor who is running for Van Tran's seat.

The nub of the question (but not directly stated last night) is contained in the three questions in the headline of this column.

Congressman Rohrabacher gave the usual white person soft ball answer by saying (in very polite and friendly but carefully measured tones) that many people in various minority communities often vote for one of their own whether they are Vietnamese, Hispanic or Black, but that hopefully people will look for the best candidate.

Why do we say that Congressman Rohrabacher "gave the usual white person soft ball answer"?

It's because his answer is what is expected of white people. Only white people are supposed to overlook race and be aracial drones voting for positions rather than for people who look like them, and only white people are expected to define "one of their own" in anything but racial or ethnic terms.

All other races and ethnicities are excused (and often praised) when they vote for people who look like them no matter what their positions.

Frankly, if a Vietnamese candidate wins against Mansoor, Costa Mesa and Newport Beach will get short shrift in the Assembly.

Remember, Van Tran voted to sell the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds and then, when he realized there was local opposition to the sale, he changed positions.

The main interests of Vietnamese candidates is in Westminster's Little Saigon--not Costa Mesa and Newport Beach.

And, remember, this is going to be especially important in the coming years as Westminister has embarked on a plan to make Little Saigon, not just the Vietnamese equivalent of a local China Town or Little Italy, but the national capital of Vietnamese life in the U.S.

Our guess is that's why Don Lamm was hired away from Costa Mesa to be the City Manager of Westminister.

Mr. Lamm is a redevelopment guy who can be expected to provide the expertise to make a much larger Little Saigon a reality and a national (maybe international) destination location.

And, because of this goal, a State Assemblyman who is Vietnamese and who represents Westminister (and Little Saigon) along with Costa Mesa and Newport Beach will naturally be inclined to follow his heart and tilt toward Westminister and Little Saigon instead of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. This could mean less funding for projects in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach as the tax money pie is cut up.

FACTS TO HELP KEEP THINGS CLEAR: The 68th State Assembly District includes parts of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Newport Beach, Stanton and Westminister. Van Tran is the current State Assemblyman of this district. He is termed out next year and Mayor Mansoor is running for his seat.

The 47th Congressional District covers Garden Grove and Santa Ana and parts of Fullerton and Anaheim. Loretta Sanchez is the Congresswoman and is being challenged by Van Tran.

THE STATEMENT IN BLUE ITALIC BELOW APPEARS ON THE COSTA MESA HIGH SCHOOL'S REPORT CARD

Can you figure out why the school is considered a failing school? Actually, that's a misnomer. The school facilities are the same as any other school facilities in the district and the teachers are probably just as good as any other teachers in the district. Same for the administrators and staff.

So, what variable(s) do we have that might account for this school having so many low student scores and thus being considered a failing school from which (by law) parents can now remove their kids and send them to a non-failing school in the district? Hmmmmm?

When you look for variable(s) in this report card try to overlook the gushy left wing crap language and the unsupported and unsupportable conclusions that are nonsense.

Also, note the two statements that we've put in bold blue. So which is it? Is diversity an asset (and if so, how so?) or does diversity present challenges?

Costa Mesa High School serves 1889 ethnically- and academically-diverse students. The ethnic composition of the school includes 30.4% Anglo, 7.8% Asian, 54.9% Hispanic, 2.2% Filipino, 1.9% Pacific Islander, and 2.1% African-American. Approximately 38% of the
students use English as their second language. CMHS/MS's diversity is an asset, and the school and the Orange County Human Relations Commission have collaborated in training students and staff to celebrate the school's unity, tolerance, and respect that are shared among all in the school. At the core of the school’s mission is the future of all its students, and despite the challenges of the diversity presented, the opportunities offered to all students are designed to ensure that every effort is made to provide every child with
the choice to enter the college or career of their choice.

LEFTIES HAVE NO CORNER ON STUPIDITY

Both of the guys in the pictures to the left were born in Hawaii. Are both Native Hawaiians?

Well, if you lack a basic understanding of genes and the nature of all living things, including humans, you may say that they are both native (small "n") Hawaiians.

In a sense, you'd be right since both were born in Hawaii. But, the guy on the right is a Native (large "N") Hawaiian since he is genetically Hawaiian and the other guy isn't.

You can, of course, see how such things get confused and mixed up in the modern world.

To be clear, the confusion flows and grows from the wrongheaded acceptance of the notion that genes don't matter and that we should disregard this essential and primary source of who and what we are and substitute secondary identities to define us.

These secondary identities include geographic locations, nations, governments, political divisions, cultures, languages, religions and ideas.

Here's a dumb article from the conservative Big Government web site in which the writer gets into a snit over the Akaka Bill that is being debated now in the U.S. Congress.

Akaka, in simplest terms, would recognize Native Hawaiians (like the guy in the photo on the right above) as being similar to an Indian tribe and allow them a larger degree of self-governance.

What's really going on, though, is that some Native Hawaiians are trying to stop their genocide. And, the Akaka Bill is a step in stopping and even reversing that genocide.

These Native Hawaiians, who really get it, now realize that all the intermarrying and blending that has been going on for years is destroying them as a distinct people.

They want to stop their genocide-by-homogenization by being recognized as the indigenous people of Hawaii, and they want to be able to define who is an indigenous person, and who isn't, based on genes, or, as we say on the street, based on blood.

One estimate we've seen indicates that around 82% of the people who now claim to be Native Hawaiian are not pure blooded Native Hawaiians. In other words, the Native Hawaiians are now about 18% of the population that claims to be Native Hawaiian and they're quickly being assimilated into other racial groups and are disappearing from their own land.

The Big Government article is so full of stupid statements, that it would take too long to discuss them all, but here are just three moronic gems from the author of the article who, like so many "conservatives," is against the bill and who tries to distinguish Native Hawaiians from American Indians to make his case. Our comments are in red:

"The fact of the matter is that Hawaii was a kingdom with a monarch before becoming a state, unlike American Indian Tribes." Uh, so what? That doesn't matter a whit.

"Furthermore, the Tribes recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs are not racially exclusive and the Native Hawaiian government would be race based." The native Hawaiian government should be race based, because Native Hawaiians are race based. They are Native Hawaiians because of their genes.

The genetic code of a distinct people is what determines their race.

Also, there is no logical justification in this just because some in the BIA have been trying to wipe out American Indians for many years by forcing their tribes to be non-race based and to blend themselves away into a larger amorphous mixed population.

An American Indian is an American Indian because of his or her genes. Many American Indians are also now trying to stop their own extinction by ridding themselves of the false notion that genes don't matter, and they are, in fact, demanding the right to constitute themselves based on their natural and historic gene based tribes and to exclude those who are not of the same blood.

White people seem to be the major human group that is most caught up in the wrongheaded idea that all distinct peoples should be blended into one undifferentiated mass.

This idea has been part and parcel of the thinking of many whites for centuries, but really gathered steam with the mass immigration of white Europeans to America.

In America, these white Europeans saw that the English, Irish, French, Germans, Swedes, and other European nationalities blended together into a sort of plain wrap White European on the American shore.

From this blending came the idea that such a blending was a good thing. What these white people failed to fully appreciate was the fact that all Europeans are very closely related genetically anyway.

This Frenchman living on this side of the road in France wasn't genetically much different from the German living on the other side of the road in Germany.

In fact, all white Europeans show the same major evolutionary divergent characteristics and mutations that make them one distinct people, different from all other peoples on the planet, no matter how Europe was divided up into nation states.

In other columns, we've gone into more detail about this false and genocidal "genes don't matter" idea which at its heart is really the extinction of distinct peoples, so we won't dwell on it here other than to say that many whites did (and still do) think that the human norm is a white person and that all non-white people should become as much like white people as possible.

That's why whites forced American Indian kids into white clothes, gave them white haircuts, and put them into white schools and churches. And that's why whites in Australia stole Aborigine children by the thousands and had them raised in white families.

"There are Hawaiians who object on the grounds that they would be racially excluded from the new governing entity, even though they have lived their whole lives in Hawaii." This is really stupid. The writer is mixing up residence with genes. It's just dumb logic.

Look at it this way: If a Chihuahua is born and/or lives in a kennel of Pit Bulls, is the Chihuahua a Pit Bull? Of course not. The Native Hawaiians are demanding the right to self-identity, self-determination and self-governance. They're saying, in essence, that they are a distinct genetic people and they want to live as a distinct genetic people and not become extinct.

THE CM PRESS BOTTOM LINE: All distinct peoples have, by dint of their birth and by natural law, the right to self-identity, self-determination and self-governance and they should not be forced by governments of humans (who are often of different blood) to blend themselves away into some undifferentiated lumpen mass of humanity. Distinct peoples have a God given right to exist, as they alone determine is in their best interests.
