Unfortunately, the White contractor who was most in danger exhibits a slight White Stockholm syndrome weasel response by saying he doesn't wish anything bad on the Black who had just tried to kill him.

And, speaking of this White Stockholm syndrome, remember Reginald Denny, the White truck driver who was almost beaten to death in the '92 LA Black riots, and how Denny said that he understood why they wanted to attack him [because he's White]?  

Whites saying such dumb things after being attacked for the color of their skin aren't doing other Whites any favors, because such statements help supply a moral justification to the Black attackers of Whites and such statements also embolden other Blacks to attack Whites.

There should not be one kind or understanding or weasel word uttered by Whites who are attacked by Blacks.  No one has a right to attack you. Period.

HYPOCRITE OR STUPID OR BOTH?

Here's a current example of hypocrisy and stupidity that we spotted in the Daily Pilot today.

Thomas Eastmond, in his commentary in the Daily Pilot, "Consider ideas at face value without regard to who's promoting them," HERE, maintains that we should consider the message and not the messenger.

Now, this is simply a nice way of stating that small minded and stupid people often try to attack an idea with an attack on the person who is propounding the idea--an ad hominem fallacy--instead of attacking the idea itself.  As Eastmond correctly points out [my words here], an idea should stand or fall on its own merits and should not do so based on who posited the idea.

After Eastmond's commentary, some of the usual dim witted haters chime in with posts and agree with Eastmond. However, in doing so, many of them simply underline their own hypocrisy and stupidity.  Most of these haters constantly attack others and not the ideas of the others.  They often do this against the mayor and mayor pro tem, but this isn't limited to these two.  They also make personal attacks against anyone who even suggests that what the mayor and mayor pro tem are doing is helping improve Costa Mesa.

But enough of theory.

I agree with each of the comments above 100%. And, as I read some of the names and knowing a little bit about their political leanings, I'm very amused. I find myself wondering what was running through their heads as they read this exceptional essay. Kudos to Mr. Eastmond for providing us with such a thought-provoking commentary.

Now, doesn't that sound as though West agrees that one should consider ideas and not the person propounding the ideas?

But...read on.

After a recent column I wrote appeared in the Daily Pilot, the constant attention seeking West, no doubt trying to put meaning into his sterile and meaningless life in his declining years, made a really stupid post in a feeble minded way to attack the messenger (me).

In my column, I had written that it is good to have some doers [such as the mayor and mayor pro tem] on the Costa Mesa City council  and not just people who show up, smile and cash their checks after rubber stamping just about anything staff puts in front of them. HERE

West's post below is nothing but his attempt at attacking the messenger and has nothing at all to do with my column in the Daily Pilot. Yes, sir, considering his body of work and the views for which he has become internationally notorious, I wonder if he will be embraced in Mayor Righeimer and Lee Ramos campaign camps. Certainly, he is entitled to his views, just don't forget where he's coming from. If they hold him at arm's length while he praises their tactics how does that square? Now, I really must add that I care what West and these other dimwits think about me about as much as I care what monkeys in the zoo think of me.  These are mostly not very bright people.  But, I do like to point out just how stupid some of them are since they seem, as a group, to constantly post comments that only affirm how dumb they are.

WHY BOTHER?

Some, who are steeped in the cliches of the current orthodoxy of society and unnatural religiously based ethics, which are often cloaked in secular terms, say that we should go out of our way to consider the character of all other humans, even those who are different from us and even when the statistics show they are not only different in obvious and visible ways but are also different in behavioral ways, and also when they present a danger to our continued existence in both subtle and direct ways.

 I say, Why?  Why should we spend one calorie or one second of our time in doing this?  Would we spend one calorie or one second of our time trying to determine the character of each shark in the water near us?

What do we profit in this spending of our calories and our time?  What do we gain?  Why should we waste our precious natural resources of our beings in ways that do not in some way give us a return on our investment?

The first rule of nature for every type of organism, including humans, is: Survive.  But, why must we survive? What is the purpose of our survival and our lives? It is found in the second rule of nature: Make more like yourself--expand your DNA Code always and contract never.

TRANSPORTATION WISHES-DO THEY REVEAL PSYCHOLOGICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN LEFTIES AND RIGHTIES?

Have you noticed that it is mostly lefties (usually Democrats and liberals) who push for mass transportation, including light rail, buses and similar herd ways of getting around?

I suspect statistics might show that it truly is lefties who like the idea of mass transportation.

And, I think it might be righties who prefer to drive their own cars.

Speaking for myself, I don't like mass transportation.  I prefer to go where I want, when I want, and on my own schedule, at my own speed and to control as many aspects of the trip (windows down or A/C on, choice of music, etc.) as possible.  I don't like to be crammed into a train or bus.

So, what does the difference in transportation choices speak to?  Can it be that lefties like mommy to tell them when and where to go while those on the right prefer to take personal responsibility for where and when they go places--that they would rather be the driver than a passenger--that they would prefer to be in charge and not have someone else be in charge of their destiny?

Of course, the above is just speculation, but it might make for an interesting study.

One of our freedoms in the U.S. is the freedom of association.  This freedom also means that we have the right to not associate with others for any reasons we choose and it's no one's business why we make such choices.

Most intelligent White parents want the best for their kids, and this means putting them in safe schools where they'll get an education and get a leg up on life.  This leaves out putting them in ghetto schools.

We see this right here in Costa Mesa as many White parents are sending their kids to schools in Huntington Beach and Newport Beach instead of to Costa Mesa schools.

In a comment now appearing in the Daily Pilot, West writes that he didn't use the name "Hitler."  This seems to be one of the things this guy doesn't understand.  You see, one doesn't actually have to use the name so long as people understand who or what one meant by other words. And, it is clear that others, including the writer of the article in the Daily Pilot, the headline writer, and the editor as well as ordinary citizens understand who West meant.

West also wrote that if the mayor wanted an apology he should have contacted West personally.  Our guess is that this may happen, but via registered letter.  We'll just have to wait and see.

MAYOR PUBLICLY ASKS FOR APOLOGY FROM BLOGGER

On a Facebook page, Geoff West, who calls himself The Pot Stirrer,  made an odious comparison between Mayor Righeimer and an infamous person who was in power about 75 years ago [1939] in Germany.

We won't repeat the foul comparison--which in any case is not true or accurate--simply because the comment might be considered defamatory, and we do not want to be a republisher of possible defamation.

At last night's City Council meeting, Mayor Righeimer publicly took issue with West's characterization of him, and indicated a particular sensitivity since Righeimer is a German name. We believe we heard the mayor indicate that as a kid, he had to put up with bullying because of his German name.  And, of course, it is reasonable to assume that West is aware that Righeimer is a German name.

The mayor also asked for an apology from West and from the four people who had given likes to the comment made by West.

Then, when it was her turn to speak, Councilwoman Wendy Leece refused to repudiate the characterization made by West and even tried to sluff it off as something that those in public office must take lying down.

The low IQ haters often call Mayor Righeimer a dictator and base their claim on the way he runs city council meetings.

Of course, in their lexicon "dictator" means that the mayor is simply doing what the mayor is supposed to do: run efficient city council meetings. That, dear friends, is part of the mayor's job.

Before the mayor limited public comments to ten speakers at the start of the meeting with the rest near the end, the neurotic and exhibitionistic haters were turning the public comments section into a time wasting combination Circus Side Show, Democrat Party forum and hate fest as they tried in their clumsy low IQ ways to make political points both with the TV audience and also with the audience at the meetings.

Now that most of these slime ball, neurotic haters can't perform their tired circus acts in front of a larger audience, at the start of the meetings, they slink off--and crawl back under their rocks where all the loathsome creatures hide from the light of truth--since very few people will see or hear them as they put on their sideshow acts.

As you read my words here, remember, the public comments section of the meetings isn't to address the public, but is to address the city council.   So, those who truly wish to address the council on some legitimate issues can still do so at the end of the meetings and they'll be heard by the council.  They just won't have a large public audience.

Dictator?  Nope.  Not at all.  Just an elected official doing what he was elected to do.

MEANWHILE IN COSTA MESA

Every election cycle, right here in Costa Mesa, we see some flash-in-the-pan candidates pop their heads
up, make some noise, talk to some know-nothings, and then, after they get whacked down and lose the election, they disappear, often never to be heard from again.

If Costa Mesa is to continue to improve, we need doers on the city council who have some ideas of their own that redound with improvement minded voters.  We do not need do-nothing listeners who have no ideas and who have never been involved in improving the city but who apparently fell out of bed one day and decided to run for the council.

Hands before ears.

And, why are the "listening" candidates listening?  It's because they have no core beliefs, no original ideas, nothing to say, and no strong reasons for running for the council other than, perhaps, they want their few minutes of local fame.

Folks, if you want to run for the council, then you should have more that you want to accomplish than simply wanting to pop your head up and wanting to run for the council.  You should be fired up because you actually want to fix something that needs to be fixed in the city.

You may recall that when Gary Monahan first ran for the council, lo those many years ago, he did so because the too intrusive city government was harassing a bar where Monahan was working.

The point is that if you run, you should have a strong reason to run to right some wrong or fix something.  You shouldn't be wandering around the city aimlessly saying you just want to listen to people.

"Hello, I'm running for the city council because I want to listen. So please vote for me."  Huh?

HATERS NOT MAKING AS MUCH NOISE ABOUT THE LAWSUIT

Have you noticed that the usual small handful of haters aren't making as much noise about the Righeimer/Mensinger lawsuit since the judge ruled that discovery can move forward?

Do you wonder why?

Our guess is that they're afraid there are going to be some big bombshells over the next few months that will favor the Righeimer/Mensinger side and which may help Mayor Righeimer get reelected.

And, also remember that the DA is still investigating on the criminal law side of things.

So, why is the DA taking so long to investigate?  Well, just guessing again, one doesn't need too much imagination to at least wonder if there are some major leads that are being investigated that go far beyond what has happened here in Costa Mesa with the mayor being followed, and the mayor pro tem having a tracking device put on his car and someone trying to get Councilmember Monahan in a compromising situation.

In fact, those who follow such things might even speculate that the Costa Mesa part of this story may just be the small tip of a very large iceberg.

We'll all have to stay tuned to see how this unfolds, but it wouldn't surprise many of us to see all sorts of twists and turns before all is said and done.

This is a BIG story.  Don't let anyone tell you differently.

As we wrote back when the haters were gloating about the judge not letting robust discovery take place, and only allowed a deposition of the gum shoe who followed Righeimer, and then the gum shoe clammed up and took the 5th more than 200 times, that this wasn't a win for the anti-Righeimer haters; it was a Pyrrhic victory (which is really a loss) and we said this would be revealed as the judge was then duty bound to open up wide discovery--which has now happened.

A plaintiff has a right to his or her day in court and a plaintiff also has a right to discovery.  A trial is a search for truth, and those who try to frustrate that search for truth often end up just pissing off an honest judge, and the truth still comes out.

Don't be surprised if this case reveals some very dark matters that reach far beyond Costa Mesa.

Remember, Watergate started as a simple break-in.

FIRST AMENDMENT WIN IN NORTH CAROLINA

The University of North Carolina-Wilmington harassed and denied a professor a full professorship based on his newspaper columns that took a Christian and a conservative view of homosexuality and other public issues.

The Court has now ruled that the University must pay back wages and give the professor his promotion.

60TH ANNIVERSARY PLANNING COMMITTEE WRAP MEETING

BASIC RULE: You can always delegate authority, but you can never delegate responsibility.

The CM PRESS attended the meeting last night.  And, we have four words for why there were so many problems with the 60th Anniversary Party: Incompetence, stupidity committee, bureaucracy.

With all the people involved in putting on this event, and with the budget established before the event, you'd think someone would have realized that things were out of control.  Why didn't anyone speak up?  Why didn't higher ups get running reports of what was going on?

Look, let me put this in clearer terms.  If you're the captain of a ship, you must rely on those below you in authority to do certain things, but you don't just let them go crazy.  You keep an eye on what's going on. You get frequent reports on the speed and direction of the ship and all other important matters--and you make corrections on the fly. Sure, there's lots going on, but  as the captain you're supposed to be in charge.  And, if those below you can't do the damn job, replace them before the friggin' ship runs aground!

What we see (from a distance) going on in City Hall is that incompetents are not replaced.  Instead, more people are hired for the Fifth Floor to try to plug the holes left by incompetents.  And, instead of seeing top people taking responsibility, we see attempts to share responsibility with crowds so that no one person ever seems to be responsible for mistakes.

At the meeting last night, speakers were told to not name names of people involved in the party who they felt were part of the problem.  Well, that may sound like a friendly way to handle things, but it is people--individuals--who do or who don't do things.  It is individuals who are ultimately responsible.

The CM PRESS left the meeting at around 7:30 while it was still going on.  It was boring and we got tired of listening to stupid people saying stupid things.

Interestingly, the room where this meeting was held last night was crowded with all the new computers the City recently bought to replace perfectly good computers.  You may recall, we spoke out and wrote against buying all new computers for everyone in City Hall and we recommended doing rolling replacements so the City would always have state of the art machines where most needed, but the City Council went ahead and approved the massive replacement all at one time.  Stupid.

Folks, there's something wrong in an organization when charter papers can't be delivered on time and when the organization can't put on a simple little party and stay within budget and can't even follow best practices in buying computers.

Let me bring up a person who should be near the top of the organization: Peter Naghavi.  As I wrote in the past, Naghavi was the guy at City Hall who kept many things working smoothly.  Every well run organization has someone like Naghavi.  You don't always see what they're doing, but things just run smoothly when they're there.  Such people have personalities that keeps them on top of everything.

Let me explain it this way.  Have you ever worked in an office where the coffee room would always be out of coffee or coffee cups, or where the bathrooms would always be out of soap or other things? And, have you ever worked in another office where there would always be coffee and coffee cups, and the bathrooms always had soap, etc.?   What do you think the difference was between those two offices?  The answer is that the second office had someone on board like Naghavi who just silently made sure everything was as it should be.  Now, I don't mean to say that Naghavi was responsible for the coffee and similar things, because, in fact, he was much higher up on the totem pole, but the point I'm making is that when you have someone with the right personality in your organization who just keeps things running smoothly as a natural product of his or her personality,  fewer things go wrong.

And, of course, Peter Naghavi, has now retired from the City.  Some believe he retired because he was passed over for the Asst. CEO position.  If true, that was a big mistake in City Hall.

My guess is that if Naghavi had been put in charge of the 60th Party, there wouldn't have been many problems at all.

You'll often hear very successful people say that they're successful because of the people they've hired. Sometimes this may seem like false modesty, but it's often true.  Successful people seem to have a way to identify and attract the best and brightest people to make them a success. Less successful people seem to lack that talent of identifying and attracting the best and brightest.

I GET MENTIONED AGAIN

This pitiful character in these photos gives me a mention again in his lefty and unoriginal blog today.

He even got a nice photo of me to brighten up his otherwise meaningless, dead-end life and dreary existence.

Say, on second thought, maybe I've got this guy wrong and maybe he's a secret fan who is just upset because I told him to never talk to me. Folks, I really do try to be polite to everyone, but this guy, well....

Hmmmm, do you suppose he may have put my photo up on his wall to look at me admiringly and shed a tear that I want nothing to do with him? This guy does seem to have an unhealthy obsession with me. Why else would he keep bringing me up, as he did today in his blog, when I didn't even say anything at the meeting last night?  Hmmmmm?

When I was growing up there was a pudgy kid who looked something like this guy in my school who the other kids used to pick on.  The pudgy kid would cry all the time and I felt sorry for him, so I came to his defense.

Unfortunately, because I came to his defense the pudgy kid thought I wanted him to hang out with me. Being a kind and compassionate person I had a hard time trying to avoid him after that. Now, it's not just that the kid was pudgy and weak that was the problem.  He also just wasn't very bright and had nothing of interest to say. In fact, he was a total bore.  I was only able to finally shake that pudgy kid, who grew up to be a pudgy adult, when I went in the Marines.

Several years ago, someone from my old home town said the pudgy kid--then an adult--had passed away and that he had never had any children.  Natural selection at work.

FRANCE'S LE PEN DOESN'T WANT SCHOOLS TO CATER TO RELIGIOUS REQUIREMENTS FOR FOOD

The French eat a lot of pork, and Le Pen doesn't want to have to cater to immigrants and others who do not want to eat pork.  It's a simple matter of separation of church and state as well as honoring traditional French food, and not letting religious minorities dictate to the majority.

In a larger sense, this is a step toward ensuring that the French are not forced to accept other un-French religious edicts from various religious minorities.

When in France, do as the French do or leave.

Say, that reminds me, here's the recipe for Corton that I printed before:

CM PRESS RECIPE FOR CORTON (French Canadian Pork spread--from old family recipe)


This is called Cretons in Quebec but Gorton or Corton in coastal Mass., and in the latter it is pronounced as Kutung (the first "u" is almost a short "a," and the "g" is almost silent).

What could be healthier than a pot full of pork fat?


3 lbs ground pork
3 minced onions
3/4 c water
1 t black pepper
1 t cinnamon (add more to taste if desired)
1 t ground cloves (can add more)
1 pinch garlic

Cook in pot on top of stove for several hours over low heat until all the water/fat is absorbed.  Mash constantly with a potato masher as it cooks.  Let cool for several hours in the refrigerator. It should have the consistency of  a spreadable pate.  Use as a spread on crackers, bread or bagels.
