UTAH TRYING HARD TO NOT GET ITS ABSURD ANTI-POLYGAMY LAWS DECLARED UNCONSTITUTIONAL
The main stream Mormons in Salt Lake City want to keep the anti-polygamy laws on the books.
Why? Well, perhaps it has a little to do with the psychological phenomenon in which a convert to something opposite of what he or she was previoulsy, is often the biggest critic of what he or she was before and the biggest defender of their new ways.
For example, a smoker who converts to non-smoking will usually be the biggest critic of smoking and the biggest defender of not smoking.
And, since it is reported that many Mormons still secretly practice polygamy, and since the church now wants to be mainstream, if the law is overturned, it might be expected that many polygamous Mormons will come out of the closet. This will hurt the church's constant claims that it is a Christian faith much like most other Christian faiths, and it might hurt the church's attempts to get more converts from among Christians of other faiths who may recoil at the thought that polygamy will again be in the open.
And, if polygamy is back in the open, other 'hidden' beliefs of the Mormons might start being front page news which will further hurt the expansion of the church via its aggressive missionary efforts.

Why did my Marine Corps ever let this puke in to the Corps? This is one reason why I keep saying the Marine Corps has to be reduced in size to around 175,000 MEN (no women in combat, please). By being forced to be too big, the Marine Corps has had to reduce standards and allow in a few scumbags like this puke.
