ETHICS:  WHAT ARE WE TO THINK OF SOME OF THOSE WHO LIE BY OMISSION?

THE CLAIM:  Hey, the Costa Mesa Police Officers Association (CMPOA) didn't give any money to Leece and Genis so they could print up and mail flyers to all the voters in Costa Mesa when they sought election to the City Council.

THE REALITY:  The CMPOA simply printed up and mailed its own flyers for the liberal duo on its own account with its Independent Expenditure Committee and not as a part of Leece and Genis's campaigns.

THE RESULT:  The CMPOA helped elect Leece and Genis to the City Council.

What we see sometimes when people with lower IQ's write comments in the newspapers, is that their comments show that they don't always understand the differences in similar words and, additionally, they aren't always able to make logical inferences.

Thus, you will see some of these people writing something like: "There is no evidence that so and so or some group did something wrong."

You see, these people can't make connections and they may be confusing "proof" with "evidence," and they also don't understand that circumstantial evidence (if they even know the term) can lead to logical inferences.

HAVE YOU HEARD THE STUPID ARGUMENT BEING POSITED FOR WHY THE CITIZENS OF COSTA MESA SHOULD PAY TO DEFEND THE COSTA MESA POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION?

This argument  tries to confuse matters by claiming that Righeimer et al. are suing based on the fact that a CMPD cop showed up at Righeimer's door and checked Righeimer for intoxication, and because this cop was doing his job, the citizens of the city should pay to defend the lawsuit against the CMPOA.

The fact is that Righeimer et al. are not suing the cop who showed up at his door. That's not the issue.

They are suing an independent organization of some police officers that has no official status with the city.  It is a union, or as they like to call it, an association.  It was the union/association that hired the law firm that the PI worked for, not the individual cop who showed up at Righeimer's door. As far as we know at this point, this cop was simply dispatched in the normal way after the PI reported a possible drunk driver.

And, the lawsuit goes beyond this one incident and this one non-issue.

What is important about this is that it was this incident that started the unraveling of what some are calling Cop Gate, and if you read the complaint from Righeimer et al. and you have more than a two digit IQ (something that is not found very much in the haters), you'll see the reality of what's going on and start to understand the seriousness of this matter.

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL HAS A COLUMN ON STUPID PATHOLOGICAL ALTRUISM

Yes, dear readers, you've seen the CM PRESS rail against pathological altruists for years.

These neurotics, who are mostly weak seed Whites, bound all over the planet to "help" non-Whites and usually do more harm than good in the long run.  And, most of the harm that they do is to upset the balance of nature and they end up harming Whites as well as non-Whites.

The best policy is non-interference into the business of non-Whites.  They don't need the help of sicko Great White Mothers and Great White Fathers who treat them like little substandard children.

And, in related news, Black Charles Barkley correctly says that Blacks don't need White America to tell Blacks what to say and what not to say [HERE].

Anyway, it's nice to see the WSJ also write about this subject.  Maybe that WSJ column will enable some of our local weak seeds to see the error of their ways (they are a highly suggestible lot as well as being wimps and they need to hear some of this stuff from the MSM to grow some balls).

PUT YOURSELF IN THE SHOES OF MAYOR RIGHEIMER AND MAYOR PRO TEM MENSINGER

You're the top two elected officials in Costa Mesa, and you have to look over your shoulders all the time--every day and night--every minute--wondering if you're being followed, or being set up or bugged.

When you're at home with your family, you wonder if a noise you hear outside is someone bugging your car or keying it or maybe even planting something in your car or  doing something to harm you and yours.

When you see a strange car driving down your street, you have to wonder if the driver is a PI or an off duty or retired cop--perhaps from a different jurisdiction--and, you wonder why they're on your out of the way street, but you fear they're up to no good.

When you go to sleep, and you hear a noise outside, you are suddenly wide awake, and you have trouble going back to sleep because you imagine someone is outside your house doing something nefarious. Maybe you go look in on your kids to make sure they're okay.  You might like to look out the window to see what made the noise, but you're afraid someone will be looking back in and they might be armed.

You don't know who to trust and who not to trust.  You have to be guarded every minute.

And, despite what some might try to tell you, this isn't paranoia.  You have ample evidence to make you wary.

No elected official in a city like Costa Mesa, should have to fear doing their jobs and no elected official should fear voting this way or that way because they may anger some cops who have extraordinary powers just by the nature of the profession.

Would you like to live like that?  Well, we can guess that Righeimer and Mensinger don't like it either. Maybe their lawsuit, or maybe the reported DA and FBI investigations will work to get things back to normal where a couple of elected officials will just be able to do the jobs they were elected to do and not be looking over their shoulders every minute.

Citizens of Costa Mesa should be outraged at what is happening to the mayor and the mayor pro tem.

SANDY GENIS TO VOTE ON WHETHER THE CITIZENS ARE TO PAY FOR CMPOA'S LEGAL DEFENSE?  WHAT AN ABSURDITY.

HERE'S a link to the CMPOA's Form 496 filed November 1, 2012, in which you will see that the COSTA MESA POLICE OFFICERS ASSN. IEC reported spending $ 6,262.50 on a "MAILER" and $ 762.52 on a "ROBO CALL" in support of the election of Sandy Genis.

And, that's just one of several forms that show the support of the union for Genis.

Look, folks, some of the haters think you're stupid.  They say that Genis didn't receive any money from the union. That's true, but the haters think you're so stupid that you will interpret that to mean that she didn't receive any help from the union to get elected.

The fact is that the union spent thousands of dollars via their IEC (Independent Expenditure Committee) to help elect Genis to the Council (as we indicated above).  It doesn't matter that they didn't simply hand checks to Genis--they ran their own campaign to help get her elected.  Why do you think they did that?  Out of the goodness of their hearts? LOL!  And, now, if it gets that far, Genis is going to vote on using our money to defend the CMPOA?

HATERS ON PARADE

Be sure to read this Daily Pilot column [HERE] about the CMPOA trying to get citizens of Costa Mesa to pay their legal bills. But, more importantly, read the comments from the usual dimwitted haters that follow the column.

It's the usual low I.Q., knuckle dragging, slack jawed, uniform groupies, union shills and neurotics who spew their hatred of the good Council members all the time.

Some of their comments are hilarious because most of them don't know the first thing about law or logic, but that doesn't keep them from opening their yaps and showing how absolutely stupid they are.

Folks, this business with Jim Righeimer and Steve Mensinger (and others?) being followed and bugged, and who knows what else, is serious stuff.  This is going beyond a civil suit.  This is BIG!  This is national news.

Will we soon hear about false evidence being planted?  Will we hear about physical threats? Actual assaults?  Will we hear about other politicians being set up in some way?

Remember, Watergate started over a simple break in to a political party's offices.  A minor little discovery by a low paid security guard of a door that wouldn't close, because of a small piece of tape put on it, led to the fall of a president and all his men.

You've heard about all the cops who have left the CMPD, supposedly  "because of poor working conditions," right?  Well, one has to wonder how many are really  trying to flee to protect themselves from an ever expanding investigation into wrong doing.

Oh, and wait until some of the anonymous haters who post under false names are exposed.  These dopes think they won't be discovered?  LOL.

Unlike the OC REGISTER, there's no paywall in the Pilot so you can get a good read of the  disgusting crap that Steve Mensinger and also Jim Righeimer  and their families have had to put up with.

No matter who denies it, this all originated from some who work for the city--that's who was paying the bills--and has been helped along by uniform groupies and absolutely stupid people including at least one local moronic politician and the gaggle of easily manipulated local haters.

Of course, those involved, and those who turned a blind eye to what was plain to see by anyone with more than a two digit IQ, now say "We didn't know nuthin."   Yeah, right.  It's all starting to unravel now and it wouldn't surprise us to learn that behind the scenes there are some in the know who are trying to work deals.

We're now starting to hear the word "conspiracy," and will we soon hear about moonlighting active duty cops doing dirty deeds in other jurisdictions to return favors?

As you may also recall, early on  it was reported that there were at least TWO PI's involved in the Costa Mesa crap along with the woman sent in to Monahan's to try to get him into a compromising situation. Will we be hearing more about this second PI and the woman soon?

And, speaking of bugging, has anyone swept City Hall for bugs?  How about Conference Room 1A?

Folks, as we've written before, this isn't small potatoes.  This is a big deal.  It wouldn't surprise us if we hear about some former CMPD cops being pulled into this before it all ends.

 THE OC REGISTER HAS A PIECE ABOUT THE STERILIZATION OF PIT BULLS

The gist of the story is that San Francisco and Riverside County now have breed-specific ordinances.  That is, those jurisdictions have ruled that genes matter and that certain breeds of dogs must be sterilized or somehow prevented from attacking people.

But the OC REGISTER story has the usual lefty nurture over nature slant as it talks about one specific Pit Bull laying around looking at hummingbirds flying by.  "Oh, how cute."  "Why, it's the content of his character that is important." Sigh.

Genes are them.

AND, HERE'S A SHORT ENCYCLOPEDIA PIECE ABOUT AFRICANIZED HONEY BEES

Summary:  Africanized Honey Bees look very similar to European Honey Bees, and their poison is no more dangerous than that of European Honey Bees.  The problem is that their genetically determined behavior has them swarm faster and pursue perceived  threats to their hives for longer distances and in greater numbers than European Honey Bees. In other words, they are more easily riled up and they are more aggressive than European Honey Bees.

More than a thousand people have been killed in Brazil by Africanized Honey Bees.  Perhaps these dead humans just thought something like "bees are bees," and didn't consider the genetic differences. Their mistake.

South Coast Metro?  Yup, it's given billing, as we say in the biz, in the same type size and style as Costa Mesa and Newport Beach as though South Coast Metro is its own city on a par with Costa Mesa and Newport Beach.

At a recent meeting, the Costa Mesa City Council approved plans for five high-rises and more than 1,200 new residential units near the Orange County Performing Arts Center across from South Coast Plaza--the area known as South Coast Metro.

Missing from the approval was any demand on the developers to provide affordable housing in the project area or even outside the project area.

Some wonder where the Morlocks will live who will service the needs of the rich Eloi, living in the new buildings high above the nitty gritty things that make everything work, if these Morlocks can't afford to live in the project area. *

Never fear, dear readers, as you have no doubt already guessed, several movies have suggestions for just such a situation. TheMorlocks can live in the equivalent of dimly lit tunnels down below the shining spires--which is to say they can live in old Costa Mesa and Santa Ana.

But first, some gaps need to be filled in our speculation to properly set the stage and to explain that just used term "old Costa Mesa."

Could it be, as I've written before, that a new city may be aborning in South Coast Metro?

Imagine a Costa Mesa that stops just south of the San Diego Freeway. Imagine a Costa Mesa that has lost most of its tax revenues. Costa Mesa was long ago cut off at the legs so that we can no longer stick our toes in the Pacific Ocean. Now, will the top half of Costa Mesa also be cut off?

To understand why this is possible, even without all the inside baseball, just look at a map of the area.

Draw a rectangle on the north side of the San Diego Freeway paralleling the freeway from the Santa Ana River on the west to Main Street on the east and extending up to around Segerstrom Avenue, or maybe even up to Warner Avenue in some places.

What do you have?

A rectangle that is a multi-million dollar cash cow that straddles the border between Costa Mesa and Santa Ana. This area is developing its own identity separate from the two cities in which it is located. And, having such an identity is a logical step to full city hood.

This rectangle that you just marked off will not only have the new high-rises and thousands of people living there, it already has South Coast Plaza, IKEA, and many other smaller centers and even the new Furniture Center along the San Diego Freeway as well as a law college and many homes in the area west of South Coast Plaza. It also has a huge chunk of Costa Mesa's annual tax revenues.

And, speaking of the new Furniture Center, doesn't that sign with the ball on top along the 405, just somehow look like what you'd expect to see in a 1930's vision of a futuristic city that also has elevated pedestrian walkways connecting up buildings as you see at South Coast Plaza? Don't you half expect to see flying cars landing in the area?

Anyway, imagine that the financial and political powers in the rectangle are getting a little tired of having to deal with Costa Mesa and Santa Ana politics every time they want to build something. You know, things such as having to fight off the constant calls for the developers to donate almost $20,000 per residential unit that they want to build in order for Costa Mesa to be able to build affordable housing--as we heard at a City Council meeting.

Maybe the powers that be have decided that the path of least resistance is to go the way of the City of Industry.

Not clear what this means? Read on.

The City of Industry is about 11.9 square miles in size–about the size of Costa Mesa–but according to the 2000 census, it only has 777 residents.

Costa Mesa, by contrast, and to be precise, covers 15.7 square miles and has, according to the 2000 census, 108,724 residents.

The City of Industry was formed in 1957 to keep surrounding cities from grabbing land in the area for tax revenues.

So, could there really be some developers and others meeting in the present equivalent of smoke filled rooms talking about having the rectangle described above becoming its own city with its own bought and paid for city council that’ll dance to the right tunes?

Sorry, but I don’t know. I'm allergic to smoke filled rooms and their present equivalents and I wouldn’t be invited to any of the meetings even if there were such meetings. The dead swan on the Daily Pilot’s 103 most influential whatevers list has more clout than I do.

But, as a lowly and ever humble observer of the local scene, it just seems logical to me that someone with a financial interest in South Coast Metro would be thinking about this. I mean, what am I, a genius and the only one who can see what is so plain to see? I don’t think so.

If someone wanted to make a move to start a new city out of the rectangle, what would they do? Well, they’d have to have a large enough voting population living in the area to ask for city hood (say, a couple of thousand up-scale people living in new high-rises along with the people living in homes on the other side of South Coast Plaza).

They might also want to have a mass transportation infrastructure (say, like Centerline) to bring in the Morlocks from Santa Ana and the old Costa Mesa (which in our extrapolative and metaphorical speculation has become like the worst of the Westside) to do the menial job of shoveling coal into the huge machines down in the dimly lit tunnels below the park like setting and shining towers and spires reaching to the sky where the Eloi live.

And, so what if the Morlocks emerge in the night and eat some of the Eloi?

That's the tradeoff the rich Eloi are willing to make to have someone else do the menial jobs of keeping the machines working in order for their Disneyland like plastic world to keep running smoothly. Besides, it's mostly the poorer cousins of the rich Eloiwho get eaten.

Of course, the poorer cousins of the rich Eloi--the middle class Eloi--are not pleased that they are the ones who are mostly eaten by the Morlocks while the rich Eloi live in mile high fortresses in the sky. But who cares what they think?

But, back to a more straightforward view of things. One of the points being made here is that starting a new city would require long range thinking, and pieces would have to be put in place a few at a time before anyone caught on to the long range plan.

At some point, anyone who wants a new city would have to go toLAFCO (Local Area Formation Commission) and give them their several thousand dollar fee to explore the possibility of splitting this area off from Costa Mesa and Santa Ana. That’s pocket change to some of the developers in the area.

After that, the middle class Eloi could just sit back in their lounge chairs watching TV while living in the shadows under the overpasses and elevated roadways that crisscross old Costa Mesa and which connect up a gigantic and ever growing John Wayne Airport and various rich Eloi enclaves to Beanfieldtropolis.

And, as we contemplate our new, smaller, less wealthy and less desirable Costa Mesa where English is no longer the lingua franca and as we wonder how it came to be that this chunk of land--with a great climate and a geographic location between tony Newport Beach and tony Beanfieldtropolis--came to be as it is today, we scratch our heads and wonder how all those tiny little decisions of the Costa Mesa City Council could have somehow added up to what we now have. And, seven words pop into our heads: "cumulative effect of many bad small decisions."

Of course, the above is all speculation and mixes fiction with fact. Still....

MEETING TONIGHT ON 19 WEST STREETSCAPE MASTER PLAN

Our opinion:  We need more sidewalk cafes on 19 West and especially near, and on Harbor.  We also need to encourage more modern architecture--something with a form-follows-function industrial look would help and would tie in nicely with the Westside.  The faux Spanish Mission look is tired, lifeless and dated.

With the new housing in that general area, that should attract upwardly mobile young professionals, we may be on the cusp of a commercial real estate boom that may transform that whole general area into a real downtown for Costa Mesa.
