FAKE HATE CRIME REVEALED AT OBERLIN

These fake hate crimes happen all the time.  They're usually not discovered until after they get front page newspaper coverage both of the fake hate crime itself and also of candle light marches by neurotic lefties.

Then, when the truth is discovered, it is usually buried in the back of the paper, if it appears at all.

We've looked at many of these fake hate crimes and we often see hints of an underlying psychosexual pathology in many of them.

SO WHAT COMES NEXT IN THE R&M LAWSUIT?

The defendants must answer the complaint.  This is usually done with formulaic denials of every cause of action. There may also be some motions such as a request for dismissal, or severance.

After that, there will be tons of papers going back and forth--interrogatories, etc. Most under oath with the penalty of perjury hanging over them. Then come the depositions. 

Through all of this, each side gets to see their own strengths and weaknesses and the strengths and weaknesses of the other side.

You're going to be hearing about attorney/client privileges being invoked and much, much more.

It'll be interesting to see who represents the POA.

HERE PIG! SOOIE, SOOIE, SOOIE!

The Pot Bellied Pigs are all making their usual tiny brain grunting sounds in the local press over the lawsuit filed by Mayor Righeimer and Mayor Pro Tem Mensinger.

Most of the comments are the usual know nothing crap that you hear from these punks all the time.

These creeps want voters to think that they're just apolitical concerned citizens who are soooo concerned about local government and the condition of our city. In fact, however, most are extremist lefties, many are Democrat Party operatives, and the few who start every sentence with "I'm a Republican, but..." are crackpot liberals.

What almost all of them hate is change and smaller, less intrusive government that doesn't keep raising taxes and fees.  And, it is change and smaller, less intrusive government  that lives within its means that the good council members are bringing to Costa Mesa along with an improvement of our infrastructure to attract more upwardly mobile young families instead of people who need charity handouts.

The reality of THE lawsuit

Put yourself in the shoes of Jim Righeimer. 

 Before he was even elected, some rogue cops were out to get him and were using the gravitas inherent in their jobs to try to smear him and  get some easily manipulated ditz-head puppets elected to the City Council to keep buttering their bread while mouthing the usual cliches about how we need more public safety and how, boys and girls, we have the bestest police officers in the whole wide world.

Then, after Righeimer is elected, a private gumshoe who works for the law firm used by the police union--a guy with many prior years of being an actual cop, and who knows his way around--and, who, presumably, has many friends in many police departments--calls in a bogus DUI report on him.

If you were Righeimer, wouldn't you be concerned that there are other attempts by rogue cops to get you and to stop you from voting your conscience on the city council?  Wouldn't you want to stop it?

Exactly what would you do to stop it so you could simply do the job you were elected to do without fearfully looking over your shoulder every minute and not worrying all the time that if you vote on the council in a way that the union doesn't like, that you may piss off some rogue cops who will stalk you either directly or through third persons?

Would you roll over and give the rogue cops everything they want?  That would stop the attacks on you, and that's what many previous city council members have done.  They've just gone along to get along.  They smiled, scratched their butts and rubber stamped all sorts of pay increases and benefit packages that have now got the city owing many millions of dollars in unpaid liabilities.

But, if you're Jim Righeimer,  you know that you were elected, that you took an oath, and you have a fiduciary responsibility to the citizens of Costa Mesa--not to the rogue cops who mostly don't even live in Costa Mesa but who are paid so well that they can live in cities such as Newport Beach.

You know, folks, there's a reason we have our judges put on black robes when they sit on the bench.  It is a reminder to the public and to the judges themselves, that when they are wearing that robe they are putting aside their personal interests and that they are going to be fair and do what is right no matter their politics.

We don't have our city council members don black robs, but some do take their oaths seriously and some do have ethics and some do want to do what is right for the citizens of this city.  When some people take the oath of office, they mean it.  They don't roll over.  We think Jim Righeimer and Steve Mensinger are like that.

We could name another politician who is not like that.  She's a uniform groupie who lies to herself and to the people of this city as she twists herself into a pretzel to justify things that are not in the best interests of the citizens of this city.  But, we won't name her here.  It would just be a distraction.


In every bushel there are good apples and a few bad apples. It is the bad apples that we don't need in Costa Mesa.  We don't need cops who want to play politics in this city where most of them don't live and where they can't even vote.  If they want to play politics, they should do so in the cities where they actually live and where they have their families and their hearts.

Bad cops give good cops a bad name.

Oh, and lest you think we're writing this because we're pals with Righeimer and Mensinger, it just isn't so. We've never been to their houses and they've never been to ours.  We've never sat down and had a coffee with either one or broken bread with them.  We really do try to keep an arm's length distance from elected officials, largely so we won't feel constrained in criticizing them if we feel it's appropriate.

And, in case you don't remember, we even opposed Righeimer the first time he ran for the council  in Costa Mesa because we felt he hadn't been here long enough to be acculturated into our local scene.


Furthermore, if some of you think that I just don't like cops, you're mistaken.  Some of you probably know that I'm an ex-Marine and some of you probably also know that of all the military services, Marines generally tilt more toward law enforcement than the others and that's why so many ex-Marines become cops.  It's in their/our/my nature. We are born that way.

But, it's also in their/our/my nature to stand up for what we believe is right--without compromise--and to not roll over just to get along. Call it old fashioned, but that's how some of us are.

Ever since we started the CM PRESS many years ago, we have been guided by a simple principle in regards to Costa Mesa:  If it will improve Costa Mesa, we are for it.  If it will harm Costa Mesa, we are against it.  If it will do neither, we are neutral.  That has never changed.

And, we think, on balance, that Jim Righeimer and Steve Mensinger (and also Gary Monahan, who seems to agree with many of the improvements that R&M are bringing in) are doing what needs to be done to improve Costa Mesa.

No, we don't agree with all of their priorities and everything that they're doing and you've read about those right here many times before, but when we think about such things, it's a little like putting weights on a balance scale. So far, the balance scale has tipped much more for what R&M are doing than the other way.
