GENES FOR INTERNET ADDICTION

Well, the genes involved, just like the genes for stealing cars and other things have the individuals with these gene variants act out in ways that take advantage of the current environment in any age.

In  other words, the genes for Internet addiction or stealing cares are really genes that cause other types of addiction and behaviors and have probably been in existence for thousands of years.

Genes are us.  Understand this and you'll have a better understanding of the way the world actually works.

GOODY TWO SHOES LIBERAL WHITE MOTHER CAMPAIGNS SO BLACK KIDS CAN RIDE SCHOOL BUSES WITHOUT PAYING

With video of the attack and the mother being interviewed.

She gets paid back by having her own White son brutally attacked in a hate crime attack on the bus on the first day of school by one of those Black students she helped.

Will this nutcase mother now forgive the Black student for attacking her son, as we have seen some other dimwitted Whites do when their children are attacked and even killed by Blacks?

ABOUT THAT D.A. INVESTIGATION OF THE 911 CALL

According to the DAILY PILOT [HERE] the O.C. D.A. now has the video of Jim Righeimer leaving Monahan's and is investigating the incident.

So, what's really going on?

Well, our guess is that the D.A. is going to review that tape to see if there's probable cause to charge the 911 caller with making a false police report (and maybe more).

If the tape clearly shows that Righeimer was not stumbling as the 911 caller claimed, then expect charges to be filed.

If a reasonable person might think, from looking at the tape, that Righeimer was stumbling--even if he just tripped over something, or had stepped in a pothole--then don't expect charges to be filed unless it can be demonstrated that the 911 caller lied about other things on that tape or in subsequent interviews with the police and/or other authorities.

THE REAL VALUE PRINCIPLES OF THE CM FROGS

In CM PRESS # 965, we told you the value principles that two of the three CM FROGS said they're running on.

Harold Weitzberg said he stands for Unity, Safety, Prosperity

John Stephens (he's a business attorney with offices in Newport Beach) said he stands for Commitment, Trust, Judgment

Sandy Genis was silent on what value principles, if any, she stands on.

Well, folks, we think the CM FROGS real value principles are these: Bigger government, Higher taxes and fees, More slum conditions.

Now, both Weitzberg and Stephens (the business attorney with offices in Newport Beach) are liberal Democrats and Sandy Genis claims to be a Republican, so maybe Genis is starting to feel that she's taken up with a bad crowd.

Maybe that's why she was silent about her principles.  To us, she did look sort of squirmy while on the dais at the forum the other night.

Maybe Genis realizes that she made a mistake by jumping into the Frog Pond.

Unfortunately, if this is the case, she's now stuck there and her fate is going to be the same as the other Frogs when the Frog Pond gets drained in November.

Sandy, didn't you know that you'd find Frogs in a Frog Pond?  Didn't you know that you'd find way out there liberal Democrats with that crowd of obstructionists and bigger government types?

CM FROGS TRY TO SCARE RESIDENTS ABOUT THE CHARTER

The proposed charter for Costa Mesa is similar to the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution combined.

It gives Costa Mesa home rule and some freedom from rules and regulations that faraway legislators in Sacramento come up with and sets up the way we're going to govern ourselves.

You see, Sacramento has to treat all cities the same under general law.  So, if legislators from, say, the northern part of California all get together and pass rules and laws that make sense up there, we also have to live with them here in Costa Mesa where they may make no sense to us at all and which may actually work against our best interests.

CM FROGS
Folks, the  CM Frogs--a lefty bunch of malcontents--aren't unique in history.

Back during the American Revolution they would have been  called loyalists.  They're the ones that wanted America to stay under the thumb and boot of faraway England.

And, back then, there were plenty of loyalists who made strong arguments to stay part of England.

Fortunately, those who wanted local control won. You know the rest.

Today, with the benefit of hindsight, most Americans would say that if they had been alive during revolutionary times, that they would have been on the side of those who wanted local control.  The reality, however,  is that most of them actually would have been loyalists.

That's how it is today in Costa Mesa.

The people who don't want freedom are trying to kill the charter.  And, those leading the charge are Stephens (he's a business attorney with offices in Newport Beach and he's also a liberal Democrat), Weitzberg (originally from N.Y. and a liberal Democrat), and Genis (a liberal who claims to be a Republican).

BOOGETY BOOGETY, HERE COMES THE SCARE TACTICS OF THE LOYALISTS

Last night, the CM FROGS who are running for the Council, and especially John Stephens (he's a business attorney whose office is in Newport Beach, not Costa Mesa) tried to scare people over two provisions of the proposed charter:  Section 103 and Section 401.

Here's Section 103.  Read it and see if you hide under your bed. We doubt it will scare you. It doesn't scare us. All that Section 103 does is provide a rubber clause so if things come up that aren't anticipated in various other clauses, they can be taken care of .

Like similar language in the U.S. Constitution  this is a health, welfare and safety clause to benefit the citizens of Costa Mesa.  Nothing more.

Section 103. General Powers; Seal
The City of Costa Mesa, by and through  its legislative body and other elected or
appointed City officials, as may be applicable, shall have and exercise all powers
necessary or appropriate to a municipal  corporation and the general welfare of its
inhabitants, which are not prohibited to it by the Constitution of the State of California,
and which it would be competent for this Charter to set forth particularly or specifically,
as fully and completely as though they were specifically enumerated in this Charter. The
enumeration in this Charter of any particular power, duty or procedure shall not be held
to be exclusive of, or any limitation or restriction upon, this general grant of power.
General powers of the City include, but  are not limited to, the powers necessary or
appropriate to promote the health, welfare and safety of its inhabitants. The City shall
have and use a common seal and the official seal hereinbefore adopted and now in use
by City shall continue to be the official seal of the City.

And, here's Section 401.  Nothing scary here either.  But, read it for yourself.

Section 401. Purchasing and Contracts
(a) Definitions
(1) “Municipal Public Works Contract," as used in this section, means an
agreement for the erection, construction, alteration, repair, or improvement
of any public structure, building, road, or other public improvement of any
kind, which is paid for solely with city sources of revenue (local funds not
derived from state or federal government agencies).
(2) “Other Municipal Contract” as used in this section means any contract,
purchase order, or other agreement used to procure services, equipment, ATTACHMENT 1
   Page 1 of __
and supplies of any kind, which is paid for solely with city sources of
revenue (local funds not derived from state or federal government
agencies).
(b) Exemption from the Public Contracts Code
The City is exempt from the provisions of all California statutes regulating public
contracting and purchasing insofar as such contracting and purchasing are solely within
local control and are municipal affairs, except as provided by this Charter, City
ordinance, by agreement approved by the City Council, or  as otherwise required by
applicable law.
(c) Annual Value of Exempted Contracts
Annually, the City Council shall set a value at which Municipal Public Works Contracts
shall be exempt from formal public bidding and such contract awards shall follow such
procedures as are set by ordinance or resolution of the City Council.  Such procedures
shall include safeguards to  ensure that the best value and  quality of work is being
obtained for the City, and compliance with  Government Code section 1090 and the
California Political Reform Act.
(d) Establishment of Procedures
The City Council shall establish, by ordinance or resolution, all standards, procedures,
rules, or regulations to regulate all aspects of the bidding, award, and performance of
any Municipal Public Works Contract or  Other Municipal Contract greater than the
annual value of formal bidding exempt contracts set by the City Council.
(e) Other Municipal Contracts
The City may, without exception, enter into Other Municipal Contracts. Other Municipal
Contracts shall follow such standards, procedures, rules, and regulations as set by
ordinance or resolution of the City Council.
(f) Prevailing Wages
No Municipal Public Works Contract or Other Public Contract shall require payment of a
prevailing wage unless:
(1) Prevailing wages are legally required to be paid by the requirements of
federal grants, State grants, or other federal or State law;
(2) The project is considered by the City Council, by resolution, not to be a
municipal affair of the City; OR
(3) Payment of prevailing wages is authorized by resolution of the City
Council. If payment of a prevailing wage is authorized hereunder, then a
prevailing wage schedule for municipal public works contracts shall be
established by City Council resolution or ordinance. ATTACHMENT 1
   Page 1 of __
(g) Fair & Open Competition
The City shall promote fair and open competition for all City public works construction
projects so that all contractors and workers, whether union or  non-union, are treated
equally in the bidding and awarding of Municipal Public Works Contracts and Other
Public Contracts.
(h) Contracting for Construction Services
In determining whether to use the City’s own workforce for any public works
construction or to contract for such services, the sole considerations shall be worker
availability, quality of work, and costs savings to the City.  No municipal law or rule shall
require the use of employees rather than contract providers for any construction service.

-------------------------------------
Don't believe the liberals and lefties, folks.  A charter puts some power into the hands of the citizens of Costa Mesa where it belongs.

The example we use and which even the dumbest of the lefties should understand, is to think of all the cities of California as being like rooms in a hotel.

Further suppose that the hotel only had one thermostat to control the temperature in all those rooms, and that it wasn't in your room.  Would you like that?

Wouldn't you prefer to control the temperature the way you like it in your own room?

The charter gives you that type of equivalent control over the affairs in our city.

Harold Weitzberg (with the top
of his head removed)

HAROLD WEITZBERG, known around the CM PRESS HQ
as Hollywood Harold, is really a liberal New York Democrat if you ask us.

New York!?  Democrat!?

Well, Harold has actually lived here in Costa Mesa for 29 years, but you just can't take the liberal New York Democrat out of someone in only 29 years.  Don't be a schmuck.

The liberalness seeps into one's brain during one's formative years and it takes some serious deprogramming to remove it.

As Harold was posing for our picture, we secretly removed the top of his head and tried to put in some solid conservative ideas--like smaller government, lower taxes, big "I" Improvement of our city--but we're afraid they didn't take.

Weitzberg is one of the CM FROGS, along with his fellow Democrat John Stephens and make-believe -Republican Sandy Genis.  Say, did you know that John Stephens is an important business attorney?

Anyway, Weitzberg pretty much agrees with Stephens (the business lawyer) and Genis on most things if we understood him correctly at last night's forum.

Weitzberg and Stephens (he's a business lawyer) have both followed the basic marketing dictum of telling people your three most important principles.  The rule is give three and only three.

So, Weitzberg's three principles are: Unity, Safety, Prosperity.

And, Stephens' (he's a business lawyer) three principles are: Commitment, Trust, Judgment

It didn't appear that Genis was part of the group think and she didn't seem to have any principles at all.

By the way, and as we wrote before, Weitzberg's daughter is married to Robin Leffler's son.

3Ms vs  CM FROGS LAST NIGHT AT CANDIDATE FORUM

A couple of hundred, mostly geezers, showed up to hear the seven Costa Mesa Council candidates last night.

Folks, none of the candidates was likely to fall off the stage or do pratfalls.  And, they didn't.

To learn about candidates at an event like this, one must look for subtle things. And, we'll get to that with candidate Stephens a little further on.  Say, did you know that Stephens is a big shot business attorney?  He wanted everyone to know that last night.

One candidate, Al Melone, we can dismiss right away.  He's not really a serious candidate.  His major issue is eliminating fireworks so his dogs don't get frightened.

All three of the CM Frogs--John Stephens, Sandy Genis  and Harold Weitzberg  were wearing their smiley face, kiss the babies masks to hide who they really are and they spent most of the evening agreeing with the 3Ms. Yeah.  Funny, huh? So, if they agree with the 3Ms, why are they even running?

Well, they don't really agree. Their core lefty philosophies are far different. But, that's what they were trying to hide.

The 3Ms (Mensinger, Monahan, McCarthy) want a right sized government that puts more of our tax money into making Costa Mesa a nicer city that can attract upwardly mobile young families here who will help us improve the schools, drive down the crime rate and do all the other things that productive citizens just do as a part of their very presence during their daily lives.

The Three Frogs (Stephens, Genis, Weitzberg) are lefties. Stephens and Weitzberg are also Democrats. And, Genis might as well be a Democrat. They like big, bloated government, charities up the wazoo, illegal aliens. They want more taxes on citizens, and like to hold squishy kumbaya sessions where everyone cries and smiles at each other and feels good, but nothing is ever fixed or improved.

So, how can three lefties--and they are lefties--such as Stephens, Genis and Weitzberg agree so much with three conservatives such as Mensinger, Monahan and McCarthy?

It's as we told you. They were wearing masks. They wanted to fool you.

Where the two teams of three did disagree openly is on the charter.

The lefty Frogs don't like it. Ah, well, they've changed that a little.  You see, they now say they think a charter is a good idea, just not this charter.  Sigh. Ho hum. Typical lefty politicians trying to have things both ways. They stick their fingers in the air to see which way the wind is blowing and go with it.
Big shot business atty Stephens

John Stephens slips up

And it was on the subject of the charter where John Stephens inadvertently let his mask slip a little.

Remember, we're dealing with subtle clues here.

What we saw wasn't pretty.

Here's why. Before he slipped up, Stephens bragged that he's a business attorney. A real big shot. Big important guy. [You peons are so lucky to have such an important guy running for office, don't you know.]

In fact, he's the guy--a Democrat, by the way--who went to court to stop citizens from voting on the charter in June.

Yup, Stephens kept us from voting because of a technicality--the City Clerk didn't get the paperwork in on time. A lot of taxpayer money was wasted because this guy didn't want us to have the vote.

Now, what does a real important guy like Stephens do every day?  He spends hours drawing up various legal documents: leases, buy/sell agreements and various types of contracts.  Hold this thought.

Here it comes. The mask is coming down for a moment. When Stephens spoke about the charter that we'll all finally get to vote on in November, that he opposes, he said it was a cut and paste charter.

Those three words, used by Stephens to disparage the charter --"cut and paste"--coming from a self-described business attorney should tell you something.

If those words had come from one of the other candidates you could simply dismiss the candidates as being ignorant, but coming from  business attorney Stephens makes those three words a  horse of a different color.

Why?

Well, remember that thought we told you to hold--the one about business attorneys spending hours drawing up various legal documents?

How do you think they do that?

Right.  They cut and paste.  No attorney starts with a blank piece of paper to draw up any legal document.

They have books (and now computers) full of every type of legal document you can imagine, along with alternate clauses and sections that they CUT AND PASTE.

Go to a business attorney to get any sort of document drawn up and they'll ask you for some basic information; your name, the parties involved, etc.

Then, they use the search and replace function on their computers to cut out old names in existing documents or document templates and paste in your name and new facts.  And, they have hundreds of canned alternate clauses they can cut and paste when needed.

So, when Stephens whines that the charter he doesn't like is a cut and paste job, we hear someone who is, at the very least, being disingenuous.

Of course the charter is a paste and cut job.  They all are. No one in their right mind tries to re-invent the wheel or come up with a legal document out of thin air. Geeze! What planet does Stephens think we come from that we don't understand this?

And, disingenuous, we do not need on the City Council as we try to improve Costa Mesa to compete with the shiny cities to the south for the best citizens and businesses.

We do not need more slum like conditions in this city and that's what the lefties will give us.

2.  Stupid and predictable comments on Phil's column by Geoff West also HERE.

West, as is usual with this character, tries to establish his bona fides by telling readers
that, by golly, he's a Republican and a long time resident of Costa Mesa and blah, blah, blah.

West is actually a lefty who seems to have  hatred for the good Council Members and also for the 3Ms--who are the only real Republicans either on the dais or running for the Council this year. He mostly seems to side with the Venusians and not with the Martians.
Geoff West and his pal Wendy Leece.  Wendy can be
seen emoting here with a smile as West emotes

No, this is not Geoff West trying on
Wendy's red jacket and Wendy's
 smile and folded arms.
West and a few of the other lefties seem to think they're a rapid reaction force as they try  to swamp both the Daily Pilot and the OC Register with their less than bright comments knocking anything positive that is said about or by the good Council Members and the 3Ms.

Karin Ahlf
Next, we'll probably see a comment from Karin Ahlf  giving an attaboy to West.  This is her typical MO. Watch and you'll see, any time someone like a more verbose West writes something negative about the Good Council Members or the 3Ms, Ahlf is quick to jump in with an attaboy spin.

Folks, don't be confused by all the chatter that is going on in Costa Mesa this year that is largely coming from lefties who want to return Costa Mesa to the old status quo and a bloated local government.

The Good Council Members are finally getting Costa Mesa on the right track to real improvement; improvement that you can see as you drive around the City.

Teach a person to fish--a real philosophical divide in Costa Mesa

The lefties seem to have an ingrained belief in giving a person a fish every day instead of teaching him how to fish, and the Good Council Members and the 3Ms believe in teaching a man to fish so he can take care of himself.

Now, as this fish metaphor plays out in Costa Mesa, you can see the lefties--including Wendy Leece, who  claims to be a conservative Republican (LOL)--promote illegal alien friendly charities and ever higher salaries and benefits for sometimes redundant municipal employees.  Folks, it's our money and these lefties just throw it away on squishy feel good things and most of this money leaves our City when the mostly out of town employees punch the time clock and head back to their own cities.

Wendy Leece even frequently puffs various illegal alien friendly charities right from the dais.  She's sending a message to people who can't afford to live in Costa Mesa that she wants them here.  Good grief!

Meanwhile, the Good Council Members and the 3Ms are putting our money into improving neighborhoods, streets and streetscapes in Costa Mesa so we can compete with newer, shinier cities to our south for upwardly mobile young families who don't move to a city to get freebies, but to become contributing, pay-your-own-way, law abiding citizens of a safe and prosperous community with similar families who have similar values.

A city is its people.

If a city attracts homeless people by the droves and illegal aliens by the thousands, you can be sure that there are non-profits aplenty that are attracting them and you can be sure that there are lefties and pathological altruists by the flock nearby who will drive right over stable, contributing citizens to give some freebies to people who can't afford to live in that city except for the freebies.

Costa Mesa needs to attract more upwardly mobile people and families and fewer people who need freebies.

The Good Council Members and the 3Ms are working on attracting these upwardly mobile people and families.

The lefties are working on attracting more homeless people and illegal aliens who need charity.

Which kind of city do you want Costa Mesa to be?  A new skid row or a place where you can pursue the American dream by working hard and paying your own way?

Our guess is that there are at least three more out there and we would further guess that at least one of them is a woman.

No PI is needed to stalk Wendy. She's ready to give away the store and screw Costa Mesans with no prompting.

So, all they need are two other Council Members to cave in and join Wendy.

Then, we'll all hear Wendy say something like this: "We have the bestest police and firefighters and employees in the whole wide, wide, wide world and we need to pay them what they deserve so we can keep the bestest of the bestest.  And, to ensure this, I'm going to take my crayon and sign my name so everybody knows that Wendy Leece supports the bestest of the bestest and I don't want our crime to rise, as it has because the mean four other Councilmembers took down that helicopter in which I got a free ride. #                              #                                    #

Wendy emoting with closed mouth.

POOR WENDY LEECE--IF SHE ONLY HAD A BRAIN

Wendy has a comment in the Daily Pilot in which she writes:

"Our Costa Mesa policemen and policewomen are not thugs.
How shameful it is to denigrate the people who are there 24- 7 to help us in an emergency." *
 {snip}
Wendy is always making childish, broad "all" statements about employees.  It's right out of the "be true to your school," mentality of 12-year-olds.
Say, Wendy, tell us how you would characterize the following Costa Mesa policemen:
--The CMPD cop who used a city owned tracking device to stalk a woman he was interested in romantically.
--The stinkeye cops?
--The cops who parked outside a citizen's home--in two police cars-- in what appeared to be an attempt to intimidate him, after he wrote a letter criticizing a former chief?

--The cops who weren't supposed to talk to the press when Jim Righeimer politely asked them about a dangerous checkpoint that was backing traffic up on a 405 freeway off-ramp, but who then did talk to the press and tried to create a false negative impression of Mr. Righeimer?

Wendy, most of us understand that we have a lot of good cops in the CMPD.

It's the same in every city. Being a good cop is part of what a professional police officer strives for and what citizens expect.  But, just as in every city, there may be some bad apples.

We don't know anyone who says that all the cops or all the union people are thugs.  That would also be a generalization that is as wrong in its way as Wendy's generalization is wrong in its way.  "All" of anything or any group is usually wrong.

Most of the improvement minded folks we know in Costa Mesa are big supporters of law enforcement, and will bend over backwards to not say anything that might harm law enforcement.  However, most of these folks also aren't stupid.

Also, yes, our police officers and firemen are here 24-7 to help us in an emergency.  That's why we pay them.  You do know, Wendy, that we pay them to do that, don't you?
You make it seem as though they're doing us a favor to help us.

Wendy, people like you who have no military or police or firefighting training or background often just don't get it about professionals in dangerous professions.

When you're a professional, say in the Marines, as was I, and as your daughter is now, and also in police and fire departments, you have a "mission," to perform.  And, you focus on that mission and you do it regardless of personalities involved. The mission is everything.

Professional cops and firefighters and professional Marines (and no doubt those in other military services) can often be heard saying that they're not heroes, when some people praise them as heroes.

The professionals usually aren't being humble.  Most of those who are praised as heroes will tell you that they're just doing their job.  And, they mean it. That's just another way of saying, "I'm performing my mission." "I'm doing what I was hired to do and what I'm paid to do."

So, Wendy, join us in praising the good cops, but please stop making "all" statements when, as a big girl, you should realize that "all," usually isn't true.
 #                      #                              #

And, here's Wendy's full comment:

Our Costa Mesa policemen and policewomen are not thugs. How shameful it is to denigrate the people who are there 24-7 to help us in an emergency. Outsiders coming into Costa Mesa have no understanding of the real issues here in Costa Mesa. What's happening in Laguna Hills is not what's happening in Costa Mesa. Let's not rush to judgment on either side until there is a thorough investigation. Let's all back off and be patient and show some respect to our police officers. They have done nothing to deserve the criticism being leveled at them.

JIM RIGHEIMER WAS ON THE JOHN AND KEN SHOW ON KFI TODAY

We caught a few of Jim's comments and they fleshed out some minor details a little more.

Here's what we believe we heard (we were driving in noisy traffic at the time).

Apparently, Jim's wife was the first one to know that a CMPD cop was at the front door.  The cop rang the bell or knocked, and Jim's wife answered the door.  The cop then asked to speak to Jim.

When Jim went to the door, and with his wife and kids watching, the cop told Jim to step outside.

Jim did so, and with his wife and kids still watching, the cop asked Jim if he had been drinking.  Jim told him he hadn't. The cop then conducted a sobriety test on Jim--which Jim passed.

The cop then went over to the white Kia where Christopher  Lanzillo was sitting and watching the whole situation, and the cop apparently spoke to Lanzillo.

When Jim went over to near where they were talking, Lanzillo apparently started to drive off.

Then, Jim asked the cop who the guy was and the cop said he didn't know. Jim then said: "You were just talking to him and you don't know who he is or his name?"

As Lanzillo was driving away, Jim's wife stepped near the car and asked the man inside who he was.  Lanzillo apparently didn't answer and drove away.

WE HEARD A BUZZ ON THE STREETS...

The buzz is that at least one current CMPD officer works part time for the law firm that also hired the guy who called 911 about Jim Righeimer.

WND ARTICLE ON THE COVERING UP OF BLACK ON WHITE HATE CRIMES

WND gives a squishy PC explanation about why they're now reporting Black on White hate crimes, but at least they're starting to report them, and that's more than other Websites and newspapers usually do.

The CM PRESS has been reporting on these things for years--and, without the squishy crap.

The fact is that Blacks are attacking Whites all around this country.  Know it and you may be safer.  Pretend it's not happening and you may blunder into a situation that leads to your death.  You choose.

WHO WANTS THE PULITZER PRIZE?

The 911/Righeimer story that has landed in the laps of local OC reporters is a gift for any reporters who want a chance at getting a Pulitzer and/or for a resume enhancement.

Our guess is that if you do some digging and follow some links--that are pretty clear for those with a brain--you may be surprised at what you find.

Sometimes, seeming coincidences are just that; sometimes they're more.

Don't wait for the big name reporters to parachute in and grab this story and run with it.

THINK COSTA MESA DOESN'T HAVE A LOT OF POTENTIAL COPS TO CHOOSE FROM?

Think again.

Here are some answers to a recent CPRA request we made:

In response to your Public Records Request for information on candidates for reserve police officer and the number of police officers on duty during each shift in Costa Mesa during the month of June 2012, the City is able to provide the following information for questions #1 and #2:

1.         As of 8/17/12, 595 candidates applied to be a Police Reserve Officer.
2.         As of 8/17/12, 505 candidates have been determined to be ineligible to be hired (through various phases of the testing process).  As of 8/17/12, 10 candidates have been placed on the eligibility list for Police Reserve Officer

We are unable to provide the information you requested on the number of police officers on duty during a given shift in the City because disclosure of the information would potentially compromise public safety operations of the Police Department, applicable to Government Code section 6255.
------------------------End of answer to our questions----------------

Now, the CM PRESS knew that we wouldn't get an answer to our question about
how many cops were on duty during shifts, and we knew that it would be because
such information could compromise public safety.

So, why did we ask that question?

We asked it because we wanted responsible individuals to clearly state that this could compromise public safety.

You see, we've seen at least one comment in a newspaper from one commenter who sounded as though he was inside the CMPD, and he DID reveal how many cops were on different shifts.

So, CMPD how about doing an investigation?

And, who is the person who used to post negative comments about the good Councilmembers all the time who called himself "bigdawg"?

bigdawg seemed to go silent after we made our CPRA request.  Is that an indication that bigdawg is high up in the CMPD and thus would have heard about our CPRA request?

Hateful sign used by some

POSSIBLE DOTS TO BE CONNECTED

Did you notice how fast the local police union moved to try to distance themselves from the law firm that had employed Christopher Lanzillo, the guy who made the 911 call?

And did you notice how fast the law firm moved to disavow him and remove his name from their Website?

Looks like a big scramble to try to erect some Chinese walls to make this 911 incident look like an anomaly and to stop the damage at the lowest possible level.

The implicit spin is that this 911 caller was acting on his own.  Do you believe that? Do you believe he was down here in Costa Mesa burning up gas in his car at $4.15 per gallon and spending his time watching and following Jim Righeimer all on his own dime?  Why would he do that? What's in that for him? How could he make a living from doing that?  Someone was paying him.

On the streets, the buzz is that there are dots that go back several years. Some lead to Riverside County. Some lead to other police departments. Some involve some odd "coincidences," involving some police officers and events.

An open question in the community is just how high and how far does the corruption go?

Many people in Costa Mesa do not trust the CMPD.

Even if there is only a relatively small clique of bad cops in the department, ordinary citizens have a hard time knowing who is dirty and who isn't.

Except for the usual gaggle of uniform groupies and low self-esteem dimwits who get their heads turned by ride-alongs in police cars and other PR stunts, most level headed citizens of Costa Mesa look beyond the fluff and can see that some in the CMPD seem to be out to protect and serve themselves and not the citizens of Costa Mesa.

A CMPD cop visiting a "girlfriend" in the middle of the night while he's on duty and while he's using a CMPD motorcycle.

A CMPD cop using a CMPD tracking device to stalk a woman.

CMPD cops pulling the disgusting anti-Righeimer sign around the city.

The local police union funneling money into groups that try to elect puppets to the City Council.

A CMPD cop who is supposed to be on duty but who is actually teaching at a college.

CMPD cops who aren't supposed to speak to the press, making smear statements about Jim Righeimer as "unnamed police offficers."

Folks, it goes on and on and on. Isolated incidents or a pattern?

There are lots of "little" things that add up and which, unfortunately, harm the reputation of the whole department and the many good cops there who really do want to help the citizens of Costa Mesa and who do try to go that extra mile to not only be good cops, but to be good neighbors.

You better believe a lot of people are watching to see what happens with the investigation of this 911 matter to make sure it isn't swept under the rug and that all leads are followed in all directions.

 PRESS-ENTERPRISE ARTICLE

HERE'S a 2010 article from the PRESS-ENTERPRISE about Christopher Lanzillo.  In it, you'll read that Lanzillo had at some point been the president of the police officers union in Riverside.  You'll also read other details about why he's no longer with the PD up there.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE MYCROFT HOLMES TO GET IT

In fact, you don't even have to be Mycroft's dumber brother Sherlock to see where things may lead.

But, we have dimwits in Costa Mesa who have somehow figured out how to turn on a computer and they write the stupidest things in their comments following articles in the Daily Pilot as they try to spin things against Righeimer, the other good Council Members, and the 3Ms.

Folks, we're not blowing smoke.  There really are some very stupid people blogging and making comments.  Really, really stupid.  No, we don't mean that as an empty insult.  We're talking very low I.Q. people.

If you doubt us, just read the comments by some of the Righeimer haters following this article in the Daily Pilot HERE.

We won't name her here, but especially read the comments of one woman who comments all the time. You can figure out who she is. This woman is so stupid it's incredible that her pals on the lefty side of things aren't distancing themselves from her childish and vapid comments.  But, of course, they're not doing that because they need allies in their war against fixing broken Costa Mesa.

Then, be sure to read the comments from a local blogger.  This guy is smarter than the woman mentioned above, but not by much. He lacks proper discernment.  You know, there are some people who see dots where there aren't any and there are some who can't see them where there are dots.  This guy has both of those problems. He sees conspiracies where they don't exist and fails to see them where they do.

Frankly, we'd probably all be better off if we could tattoo people's I.Q.s on their foreheads.  You see, the problem we have is that most of these low I.Q. types look fairly normal.  You have to watch them, listen to them, and observe them and then you start to see that you shouldn't waste much time asking them their opinions about anything because their opinions come from dim brains.

Stupid people write stupid things and say stupid things because they're stupid.

CM PRESS # 961

NEW...

FRANK MICKADEIT COLUMN ON THE CRAP 911 CALL AGAINST RIGHEIMER

Easy read that may give you a feel for what happened and what may be going to happen soon.

Folks, we think there's more coming about this and that there are dots just waiting to be connected that even a cub reporter or a new attorney in the DA's office can now see.

Remember Watergate?  A simple break in that led to the fall of a president.

Well, this crap they've been throwing at Righeimer may have a similar effect locally, but it's not going to be Righeimer or the other good Council Members who will fall.

Reporters hungry for stories and Pulitzer Prizes are going to start digging deep.

This is a story with long legs.

JUXTAPOSITION...

TWO STORIES FROM THE DAILY PILOT THAT WILL GIVE DISCERNING READERS A CLUE AS TO WHERE WE'RE GOING WRONG IN COSTA MESA.

In the first story HERE, we read about parents in Newport Beach asking the NMUSD to assign a top quality principal to a local school.  One parent asked that the new principal be familiar with working in an affluent area (read a White area with upwardly mobile competitive parents who work hard to be the best and succeed).

In the second story HERE,  we read about a girl who has opened a free food pantry in Costa Mesa for the less fortunate (read mostly illegal aliens).

Folks, Costa Mesa should be almost as nice as Newport Beach and other affluent communities.  We have to discourage the opening of more skid row types of charities that just act as magnets to draw people here who can't afford to live here unless they get freebies.

This pathological altruism that we see in Costa Mesa is driving down our quality of life and ruining our schools and making Costa Mesa more like Santa Ana and other slum cities.

We need to attract upwardly mobile families to Costa Mesa, not more people who need charity.

Anti-Righeimer sign paid for and
used by some CMPD cops

LET'S SEE--THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITHIN THE CMPD INVOLVING THE RIGHEIMER  911 CALL...

So, the CMPD is going to investigate itself?

Will that be like the 405 off-ramp smear investigation of Righeimer that dragged on and on?

Will that be like the stinkeye incident investigation that was swept under the rug?

Will the officers who dragged the hateful anti-Righeimer A-Frame sign around the City help do the investigating?

GOOD COUNCILMEMBERS SHOULD CHECK THEIR CARS FOR HIDDEN GPS TRACKERS

How many bad cops do you have to find in a department to realize it may be more than just a few bad apples and that there may be a whole clique of them?

#                #                    #

WENDY (AND MANY OF HER FOLLOWERS) ARE FROM VENUS AND THE GOOD COUNCILMEMBERS ARE FROM MARS

The more we observe Wendy Leece and some of her followers, the more convinced we are that, in addition to psychological, ah, problems that some of them have, many of them simply don't seem to have much testosterone (including some of  the "men" who follow her) or perhaps we can say that their inner feminine selves are much larger than their inner masculine selves.

As we wrote in an earlier column, Wendy is big on emotion and empathy and will screw up her face in all sorts of ways showing that she really, really feels the pain or joy of anyone speaking at the podium.

In fact, she even does it with the CM PRESS.  One time, after we had castigated the Council for not buying thousands of dollars worth of products and services locally, we told the Council (tongue in cheek) that we had bought the ballpoint pen in our hand at the 99 Cent store and that we were thus contributing to the economy of Costa Mesa.

After we said that, Wendy, who had been giving us a serious and attentive look (that said "I'm really listening to and hanging on every word you're saying CM PRESS"), suddenly beamed and shook her head up and down about what a good deed we had done.  Ah, folks, how much profit does Costa Mesa make on a pen? We were joking.

Oftentimes, when women talk to other women, they're not usually looking for answers to whatever it is they're talking about.  They're just looking for a shoulder to cry on or for someone to just tsk, tsk, and "understand" and show facial expressions that mirror their own feelings, and agree with them about whatever problem they're having.

Many men don't understand this characteristically Venusian way of looking at things, and act towards the woman as they would towards another man--in a Martian sort of way--by trying to offer a solution. This will often upset the woman they're talking to, because, remember, they're not looking for solutions. They're just emoting and don't want you to offer solutions. They just want sympathy and agreement.

Unlike Wendy, when the good Councilmembers hear someone bring up a problem, their first reaction isn't to emote with them, but to offer a possible solution.

You see the problem.

Those who want emotion and no solutions, then think the good Councilmembers are too harsh.

I'm convinced that the opposition to the good Councilmembers is coming from Venusians.

SOME OF THE COMMENTERS WHO MAKE FREQUENT NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THE CHARTER, OR THE GOOD COUNCILMEMBERS, OR THE 3MS (in no particular order):

Terri Fuqua
Mike McNiff
Patrick Rodgers
Tina Wilcox
Greg Ridge
Karin Ahlf
Amy Fox
Kathy Findley
Geoff West

BTW,  Terri Fuqua, Greg Ridge and Karin Ahlf are listed on Democrat and City Council candidate  Harold  Weitzberg's Website as supporters.

You'll see the above names over and over as you read the comments following articles in the Daily Pilot.

There are a few others who often leave negative comments, but they've mostly been silent lately. If they pick up their activity, we'll add them to the list.

Most of the above folks just don't seem to like the good Councilmembers and some seem to reflexively complain about everything the good Councilmembers do.

Consider just one of the above individuals as a case study.

Geoff West
Geoff West  likes to write that he's a Republican and he even claims to be a conservative.
We kid you not.

Would you peg this guy as a Republican or a conservative from his comments?

Maybe West can tell us what Republican and conservative positions he supports, because most Republicans that we know, laugh at his assertion.

So, c'mon West, tell us.

And, West, will you be supporting the 3Ms this year? These are the only genuine Republican conservatives who are running for the City Council.

SEVERAL POLICE UNIONS DENOUNCE NEGOTIATION TACTICS

We've seen some of those tactics used in Costa Mesa and we often hear Wendy Leece mouthing some of them (the below are from the above linked OC REGISTER article):

cast decision-makers as anti-public safety until they fall into line;

convince residents their safety is at risk;

and basically hound the city or county officials until they give in.

The firm also talked about work slowdowns, advising law enforcers to canvass the whole neighborhood for a burglary call.

CM PRESS # 960

This just in...from the CMPD....

UPDATE TO PREVIOUS RELEASE.

Following an incident reported to the Costa Mesa Police Department on Wednesday, regarding the alleged driving violations of Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer, an investigation was initiated by the Professional Standards Bureau and the Investigative Bureau, at the direction of Chief Tom Gazsi.

The source of the call and the alleged report of inappropriate driving is under investigation. Although the caller suggested the Mayor Pro Tem may have been driving impaired, the responding officer confirmed that Mr. Righeimer was not under the influence. A vigorous investigation continues concerning the motive and nature of the call.

The Department anticipates a future review of this matter by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
----------End of Press release-----------------------------------------------

Some readers wonder if CMPD officers in a relatively small organization like Costa Mesa's Police Department can be totally objective in their investigation which, in this case, has to involve police officers that they work with every day.

FAKE 911 CALL LEADS TO KILLING OF INNOCENT COLLEGE STUDENT BY COPS

You dimwits who think the 911 call about Jim Righeimer is no big deal and should be forgotten or should be swept under the rug, are morons.

Any time you call the police, and especially when you call  911, you set things in motion that can get out of control.

THE OC REGISTER'S STORY ON THE DISGUSTING 911 CALL ABOUT MAYOR PRO TEM RIGHEIMER

Both the Daily Pilot and the Register are doing a good job on this story, and you may want to read both papers for bits and pieces of information that you might otherwise miss.

BTW, did you notice that the head of one of the CMPD unions associations said that his union association had terminated their agreement relating to negotiations with the law firm that had used the services of the ex-cop who made the phone call?  So, the CMPD union association will apparently still use that law firm for other things.

1:34 PM, SATURDAY, 8/25/12

Part of the crowd gathered in front of the Costa Mesa Police Station to demand that the CMPD conduct a full investigation of all aspects of the 911 call claiming that Jim Righeimer was driving erratically.

One of the speakers said they didn't want this investigation swept under the rug as was the investigation of an officer visiting a woman while on his shift [in the middle of the night].
#                               #                                                 #

ARE THERE ROGUE COPS IN THE CMPD WHO ARE OUT OF CONTROL?

You've now read about the ex-cop from Riverside who made the 911 call about Righeimer, and you've seen the A-Frame sign that some cops pulled behind a Cadillac Escalade during the last election and you've read about the "unnamed Costa Mesa police officers," who tried to smear Righeimer when he tried to get them to rethink a dangerous DUI stop that was backing traffic up on to a freeway offramp.  And, you've heard about the stinkeye incident.

Well, those aren't the only incidents that have happened.  But, we'll keep the other incidents that we know about quiet for now so as not to distract from the main problem of all this crap that is being thrown at Jim Righeimer.

How much of this nonsense will the good citizens of Costa Mesa put up with?  How much will the City Council put up with?

Just pretending this latest incident didn't happen is no solution.  What will happen next time?

Will there be an anonymous call to 911 saying one of the Council Members is waving a gun around while driving?

Will there be an anonymous call to 911 saying a Council Member is dealing drugs at City Hall?

Will drugs or other contraband be planted on Council Members' properties or in their vehicles?

You see, there's no limit to this crap unless the problem is faced head on and fixed.

If the Council Members think the attacks are going to stop because of the revelations in the present incident, they need their heads examined.

And, political cops can target ordinary citizens with any of the 3Ms signs on their lawns or activists who support the good Council Members, and because cops get a high degree of anonymity, citizens can be harassed and may not be able to connect up the dots.

So, if Cop A targets 3M supporters and gives tickets to those he knows are supporters of the 3Ms, the individuals who get the tickets won't be able to see the pattern. And, as far as we know, there's no one in the CMPD who looks at these things to see if there are such patterns and profiling going on based on politics or social views.

The bad apples need to be weeded out of the CMPD or we need to have the Sheriff take over the policing of Costa Mesa.

One advantage of having the Sheriff police a city is that  if there are problems with a particular officer or officers, that officer or officers can be transferred to some other city.  That's not the case with the CMPD.

Disgusting sign used by some out of town CMPD cops to try
defeat Jim Righeimer during the last election.
WAS JIM RIGHEIMER SET UP BY EX-COP WHO WORKED FOR A LAW FIRM THAT REPRESENTS COSTA MESA POLICE UNIONS?

Mr. Righeimer seems to think so.

Eat crow, all you Righeimer haters who posted comments in the Daily Pilot trying to spin the sobriety test against Righeimer.

Read all the details in the Daily Pilot HERE.

If you're fed up with police corruption and the clique of bad cops within the CMPD, go to the  demonstration in front of the Police Station today (Saturday, 8/25) at 1:00 PM. and let the CMPD know your feelings.

We need honest cops in Costa Mesa.  We don't need cops who just protect and serve their own interests.

Folks, there are a few bad apples in the CMPD and these few bad apples are giving the good cops a bad name.

Something has to be done to give Costa Mesans good, honest, non-political policing.

As we've written before, maybe it's going to take disbanding the CMPD and having the Sherrif's Department do our policing.  Or, maybe it's going to take appointing a civilian police review board to investigate and watch over the CMPD.  Or, maybe, the brass in the department can get things fixed, but we suspect some of the problem people are now pretty high in the organization.  How high?  We'll have to wait and see.

BE SURE TO READ THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS THAT FOLLOW THIS EARLIER DAILY PILOT ARTICLE [HERE]--BEFORE IT WAS REVEALED THAT THE GUY WHO FOLLOWED RIGHEIMER IS AN EX-COP WHO WORKS FOR THE FIRM THAT REPRESENTS CMPD UNIONS

Oh, by the way, the ex-cop who followed Mr. Righeimer, and who made the 911 call, was also the head of the police union in Riverside before he was let go by the police department up there.

Check the mostly anti-Righeimer comments and note the names of the commenters. You'll see the same names time and time again.

See how fast they were to try to smear Righeimer?  Now, they have to eat crow.  Many of these people are the same ones who try to smear all the good Councilmembers and who don't want a charter and who are opposed to any real improvement of Costa Mesa and who support bitter Wendy Leece and the CMFROG candidates who, if they win election, will take us back to a bloated government that gives away the store to out of town employees.

And, don't forget, according to the OC REGISTER, Costa Mesa cops are the best remunerated (pay + benefits) of any cops in all of Orange County.

By the way, the Amy Fox who gives frequent negative comments about the good Council Members is Wendy Leece's daughter.  She seems to spend a lot of time carrying dirty water for her mother.  Karin Ahlf is also a constant commenter against the good councilmembers and as you can see from her comments, they're usually very stupid.
