Said that religious institutions--not the government--can decide who can be hired and fired to do the religious work of the institutions. This ruling reinforces the ministerial exception to civil rights laws.
Had the court not ruled this way, religious institutions might have faced discrimination lawsuits if they refused to hire atheists or those who did not believe or follow the particular religious institutions' religious beliefs and practices.
Discrimination? At its heart it really just means choice.

GOSLOW WENDY AND THE GOSLOW WENDYITES IN A DITHER
They say they can't read the seven page draft charter between now and the next meeting on the charter to be held on February 13.
We imagine a conversation in the lair of the Goslow Wendyites...
"It's impossible. How can anyone read seven pages in a month?
"This City Council is going too fast. Reading seven pages in a month is, why, it's er, ah, like rocket speed. We're not geniuses.
"We can't move our lips that fast, they'd get all sore and stuff if we tried to read that fast.
"Sandy Genis said when she was on a committee someplace or other to come up with a charter it took them nine months. See, that's at least how much time we need to read seven pages--nine months, or maybe longer.
"Let's all go very slowly down to City Hall and slowly complain.
